Default Lower Bushings | Guidance requested

    Dear members & experts,

The other day I had to get replaced 1 large bushing of left lower arm of my Toyota Corolla 2007. I had a few questions regarding bush replacement as following.

1- Since there are 2 hollow cavities or holes in the bush of 9th gen corolla, so my question is that, is there some specific method to install this bush.

2- Should the hollow cavities be oriented in specific directions or should the bush be placed randomly & then pressed, as was done by the "Khiradia". I am specifically concerned about this because I don't think the cavities are purposeless. My perception is that if the cavities are wrongly placed before pressing the bush into the lower arm, the bush might not last long & will crack again soon. And I don't think local mechanics & "khiradias" care much about this thing.

Experts are requested to guide & give their valuable inputs regarding this. Thanks!

The job of these rubber bushings is to absorb the vibrations hence there is the holes rather than a solid piece of metal or a solid piece of rubber. It should be done by a hydraulic press but there is no specific method to install it as I have seen people using a lump of wood on top of the bush to hammer it in place as well when hydraulic presses are not available and no khiradiya services available. There is no such thing as lining these holes in a specific way as I explained above its job is to take vibrations and absorb them and not shift them in the whole body. Hope that answers your question.

the bushing, if not solid, will start tearing if not installed properly.

Yes, but unfortunately, it seems that thread is uninteresting for the experts.
