Aoa brothers.
AC was fixed yesterday. The AC ustaad claims that a pipe is missing and that is why no air on right and lower vent on driver side. In past all five vents used to work (1 vent on left, 2 in middle, 1 below steering, 1 on left of steering, 1 vent on right of steering).
I suspect he is bluffing.
Current situation:
No air on right and lower vent.
The underside of the dashboard is surprisingly very cold.
I can feel cold air on my foot coming from somewhere.
Air flow is less on the left and middle two vents. (comparing from what I remember before engine swap)
The diesel engine was replaced by 4efe petrol few months ago. I suspect back then mechanics did one of the two:
Did not reassemble airducts correctly.
Forgot to put the airducts back (Do they have to remove airducts for wiring?).
Now I am getting fed up of excuses. I need tips to safely open under dash of driver side 86 corolla. A diagram with screw locations would help prevent damages.
So far, I can think of three solutions.
If airducts are still present, I can try to reconnect airducts using tape/silicon/samad-bond.
If airduct is missing I am thinking of two options. One is to make a duct using PVC pipe or pieces of PET (plastic pepsi) bottles and cover them with foam for insulation. Second option is to close open end of duct with a piece of foam or cardboard to have all air flow from remaining three vents (1 on left and 2 in middle).
I have some past experience of opening up dashboard:
Few years back I was able to open the glove compartment (dashboard-wala-daraz) area to remove the blower motor.
Have installed front speakers and wired them.
I welcome all advise and criticism.
Thank u!
