    Question 1.8 Altis 2009 Manual Variants ??

    Hello guys

I need info about 2009 1.8 Altis Manual Transmission. Is there only ONE manual variant ??

What is meant by "SR Manual" ?

Is there any benefit/difference in Altis vs GLi manual transmission?

Sr manual is Altis with sunroof but manual transmission! You fant compare Gli with Altis . Gli is 1300cc whereas Altis comes in 1800cc (2009-2011) and 1600cc (2011-2014). Altis is an fully loaded car with all goodies !

Why altis 1.8 has poor resale? I mean is there any problem with the car or is it the bigger engine?

There is no problem with the car . Its just that it has a bigger engine consumption is more power is also more but 80% People in pakistan prefer Xli or gli cars as they are 1300cc and have more resale because of more number of people are buying it . In Altis you get all options like Airbag , Alloy rims ,Sunroof ,Cruise control , Leather seats Etc ! Share the specs of car's you are getting here .

the problem is not the car or the engine - its the common people.

THE BIGGEST problem in Pakistan is people always buy their car on "resale" factor - meaning they will decide to drive a POS idiotic car just because they will get a seller in 2 hours of needed sale. That is wrong practice IMO - a car is a depreciating asset and has a fixed finite life.

The other issue is that for most people in Pakistan - bara engine, pitrol piya ga - infact the bigger engine actually returns better efficiency on the highway and in general through a major part of its life because its always relaxed.

e.g. 660cc engine car would not be able to do back to back taxi duty runs from lahore to pindi on a 24 hour run cycle with a service cycle of 20 days - it may do once or two runs and then conk out. The 1.8 litre corolla can do those runs all day, all night, day after day, multiple driver shifts and still be up and happy at its 20 day service.

In short - the larger engine car will provide you with "more dependable" service.

Another factor is taxation bracket. look that up. I believe there is a bigger difference of paymebnt.
