    Default 2010 XLI AC Compressor

    AOA

I lost my XLI's compressor a few days back while running. It just stopped working. As per Toyota 3s it was a mechanical failure. After a lot of delebrations and thinking i went for a kabli compressor(outsourced through toyota 3s), which went well till about ten odd days before giving up. It has a pully/ clutch failure.

The decision for kabli was based on the fact that the two options( orignal vs kabli) had exponentioal financial difference. However, now i am in another delima of wheather to fix this broken compressor or take a deep breath and opt for the 70k cost of new AC system.

If i go for fixing the old compressor, can someone recommend a good compressor/ AC wala in peshawar. Or do you guys think i should directly opt for new one.

Tricky part remains 2.5k Vs 70k

    1. Although a peace of mind is always new and genuine, but the substantial price difference involved defines your hesitation in going for it. Taking an empathetic approach to your problem, I suggest you try the kabli once again. What makes me suggest this is that maybe the one you bought earlier was a faulty piece and the second time you may get lucky. Get it detached from an engine if possible, the condition of which will generally define the condition of compressor. Get its open ended pipes covered properly to avoid debris in the system.
    2. Hope for the success this time and if you don't succeed, then going for the costly option would be justified.
    3. That is what I would do if it happens to me. If spending another 2.5k saves my 70k, then a second attempt is worth making an effort.

    Regards and Best of Luck

I already got a kabli fitted after the orignal broke. But no worries, i got it fixed from shobba market. The guy replaced the clutch without removing the compressor, so no harm to gas and all good. The best part was, all done in 1.5k. Wooohoooo

My 2011 corolla gli is also facing the ac compressor issue it keeps on triping and turns on when it wants its very irritating.

I have been suggested to either get a new compressor worth 45k. Or install 2002-2008corolla setup compressor and condebsor worth 20-24k.

So if the same 2011 corolla compressor is available kabuli please suggest me too as for how much does it cost I won't mind giving it a try too
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.
