Hi,
I have toyota corolla xli 2013 model. I drive my care rarely and currently the total distance it has travelled is 9300KM.
i had my first engine oil changed at 5000KM from toyota capital motors Islamabad. When they changed the oil they gave me remaining engine oil in the can and it was 20w-50 toyota petron oil( attaching pic of the can) they charged me rs 5000 for that
I didn't know much about oil grades at that time and trusted that toyota guys.
Since then my car have been driven for almost 4k and now as I said before it has run 9300km.
This time I went to a local mechanic for getting oil changed,
when I told him about the previous oil change and the oil used. He told me that 20-50 oil is used is old cars and not in new cars and thereby he implied that toyota guys have put in wrong oil in my car. It should should have been a lower viscosity oil instead of 20-50.
I got very upset at this, I would like opinion of you guys whether 20w-50 multi grade oil should have been used at 5000km in my car ? And if not, what would you suggest me now ?
waiting for your helpful opinions...
thanks,
ahmed
