Since you ask for tips about the car, i am guessing you will need driving tips too, but will get to that only if you ask for them.
As for the, properly tuned, petrol powered, and serviced brakes. Since your car is old, i suggest you clean the radiator and check your cooling system before departure.
which engine does your car have?

Check the drive on petrol as cng won't be able to take you all the way. While driving on mountainous roads, avoid overtaking at blind corners, always keep the car in low gears as to keep max torque. On the way down, try to use the gears to control speed instead of the brakes. On downhills don't use a gear higher than 2, and try to avoid unnecessary braking. If you still can't then pull over for sometime in between to let the brakes cool down.

When coming downhill, use the engine to control speed. If the car is in first, the engine won't allow to gain Much speed with ease, then when in second, it will gain a little more speed but won't go down freely. You can easily understand if you just take the car to a ram, while driving it down. Take it down in 1st without touching the accelerator, then 2nd. You shall understand then
