Default RPM Problem in Corolla 88 5AFE

    Dears,

I recently SWAP engine from 2E to 5AFE with OD Gear. ALHAMDOLILLAH every thing is OK, I will share the complete project story.

First i have the problem in RPM. The RPM is set to 700 with our AC. The problem is when i am driving and the RPM is 1500 or 2000 with 60 KMPH , when i release the accelerator and move for brake the RPM suddenly goes to 500 and then maintain to 700/800 or 1000 and when the car stop it again maintain on 700.

In another words in URDU if i am not expressing properly in english (Speed me RPM 1500 ya 2000 hotaa hay jab me accelerator paidal say pair hata ta ho to rmp yakdam 500 pay ata hay ovr gardi tora sa jatka leta hay. ovr pir sahi rpm 700/800 pa normal hojati hay.

Few days before the same issue burnt my computer throttle chock resister or capacitor in the board of computer. i replaced the throttle body and computer (5AFE A/T )but still this issue exist.

Please guide me in this regards,

    Jazakallah

IAC issue and ensure thermostat is working correctly and coolant sensor too which raises rpm on cold starts. Also check MAF

Thanks ahmad raja, Thermostat works fine according to my AC Mechanic, it trip and on after some intervals. Yes car rpm is high at morning. I will check MAF too. my installed MAF is USA made maroon color at top, should I change it to Japan made blue color at top.
And this rpm problem exist without AC on.

    REGARDS.

Have You Double Checked Your Wiring?? And TPS

The Burnt Thingy Is Not Something Normal....! I Suspect Something Fishy With Wiring

Have You Wired CEL ..Retrieve Codes By Shorting Pin TE1 And E1 On Diagnosis Box....!

Also Double Check Wiring Of TPS And IACV...And Make Sure Its Not Jamned....IACV Have Mechanism Connected Which Should Move freely

    Dear SER_GTR,

Day 1. The complete story is when the i swaped engine and car handed over to me, after drive 5 to 10 kilometer a engine check light prompt on more than 20 or 30 speed ( it was not on when i start car but after speed fo 20-30 it prompts). I called the electrition he told me i will check it.

Day 2. i went to my AC mechanic he done AC work and told me install AC Chock/choopi for AC to accelerate the car a bit.

Every thing was fine except the pick of the car was not good and it required rpm to rise the speed up to 80 kmph.

Day 3. I went to my Electrition (Saddar Mito Khan Ehata) and told him to install AC chock / choopi and the pick and speed problem to him. and also the check light problem.

He diagnous the check engine problem the code was 51 which is knock sensor grip, which was not connected, after connecting i didn't see any code up to know.

He advanced the car, the pick was good but give me knocking and was revers the advancer back a bit.

For AC He told me there are two methods 1. Install AC Chock / Choopi and 2. I will do it from computer and wiring. He did some thing in wiring. and set the rpm 700 with out as and on AC it was 1000.

Day 4. I start the car and was going to office i observe the rpm issue and the engine was suddenly stop. It did two to three time and i feel some smell.

From that day i am trying different thing and the electrition got mad. We replaced the computer and the burnt one was also repaired (5AFE A/T) computer.

Now finally the electrition told me to replace the computer with 4AFE A/T (which is short in the market now a days).

Some one giving suggestions to wash the throttle body, check fule pump, vacum pump. I change the MAF sensor but i am fail to fix the issue.

I am stuck in this problem now.

    Can i Change the wiring?

    Please need your Guidance.

    Regards

    AHMAD

4AFE ECu On 5AFE Engine Will Not Work As 4AFE Comes With 6 Wire Distributor(Additional Sensor) Cam Sensor Whereas 5AFE Comes With 4 Wire..No Cam Sensor....!

What It Looks Like That Your Electrician messed Up Trying To Make A/C Connect To Your ECU....It requires AC AMP And Wiring To Connect It Properly To ECU....Don't Know What He Tries To Do But That Burning Is Due To Overloading Some Transistor Due To Wrong Connection Or Something...!

Till You Don't Get Your Wiring Sorted...You Will Face Issues....! Beside A/C...You Car Shld Idle Properly 950-1000 All Time ....! Not To 500 Or 700 After Acceleration De-acceleration....!

You Shld Retrive Codes In Order To Check Any Further Codes On ECU...! You My Friend Is Going Through Troubleshooting Mode...Which Is Normal For Swaps Specially When You Don't Intervene While Nitto Electrician Is Performing His Ustaadi In Wiring ...!

Now Its Time To Re-check Whole Wiring And Pinout And Check If He Did Any Connections Wrong....!

Your Wiring loom Was UNCUT Or Cut??? That Burning Thing Def Points Towards Either Wrong Connection ..Also Check Your IACV And Make Sure Its Mechanism Is Not Jamned But Moving Freely...!
