Default Fuel Consumption?Altis 1.6 vs. Altis Grande?

Can anyone care to comment about the fuel average of Altis 1.6 vs. Altis Grande? Another pakwheeler mentioned in a separate thread that he owns both and the average of both is about the same (around 12 km/L). I want to confirm that the hungrier 1.8 is offset by the CVT enough to make it consume the same as the smaller 1.6.

Local - both are almost same around 10km/l
Long - 1.8 should do more due to bigger engine and cvt around 16 with light foot
Altis 1.6 on long is around 15

i own a Altis 1.8 (2010 Model) . it totally depends on your drive, how you push the accelerator, if i keep it in between 2000-3000 RPM it confirms give me 12 - 12.5 average. and if i use it like a true enjoyment of 1.8 ALtis with RPM of 2-5 it gives me 8.5-9.00.

I have 1.6 2015, 7000+ kms driven. Maximum I get is 11.7 in slow moving highly congested, stop and brake traffic on Islamabad Expressway daily run 50 kms at least.

Confirmed by full tank method, the reading of fuel average calculator is very close.

If you fill up and reset the average meter, it shows 15, 13 and 12 for sometime, but in a couple of days the real average comes which is in 11s.

Whenever, I have a smooth run the average gets better, but in slow traffic it drops.

CVT definitely gives better fuel economy than conventional auto. In fact 1.6 auto gives less mileage in real world driving than 1.8 CVTi.
I have 1.8 CVTi since August last year and it consistently gives around 12-13 km per litre within city. My friend has Altis 1.6 Auto and it never averages more than 11 within city.
And then there is a huge difference in the drive and acceleration as well. While CVT is normally thought to be slow, it is actually much quicker across the entire range.

Mine 1.6 Altis (2015) is giving 12 kms in city since the traffic flow has eased up a bit at Islamabad Expressway
