Nah, 5w-50 is thinner than water; it's not enough for a powerful N/A four banger that produces 136 galloping horses off-idle, no matter what the throttle position.

Besides, 5w-50 will breakdown easily in our 60-degree-Celsius-24/7 summers; get 10w-60 at the very least, and that too Liquimoly; everything else is either fake or substandard.

    @ZainMahdi.
Bro do you even know what is a second number in oil figures? The viscosity you're recommending will destroy my engine. That's a bugatti level viscosity, and solely it's not for corolla. I believe that's a poor recommendation.
Also, engines does not produce maximum bhp at idle. It will produce maximum horsepower at a specific rpm. More like 6000rpm. So, throttle position does matter.
Secondly, 5w-50 isn't thin as water.

I believe you missed the sarcasm in my post. That should have been evident from my 60 degree summer comment . My sarcasm was mostly directed towards @Thinking and @makhdoom123.

I always recommend using the lowest viscosity recommended in the user manual. Just get the lowest cost 0w-30/5w-30 SM/SN (or whatever the recommended API grade) from a reliable company. For these requirements, nothing beats Shell HX-7 5w-30. The 2zr-fe is actually spec'd for 0w-20 oil (only from Toyota; it's almost as thick as a 30 wt; not available locally).

Liquimoly is a waste of money; save the money you would have otherwise wasted on Liquimoly, and spend it on proper preventive maintenance instead.

Shell HX-7 5w-30, Total Quartz 9000 5w-30, and Caltex Havoline 10w-30 are the only ones that make sense economically. Combine one of them them with a quality oil filter like a MANN HU 6006 z, and you can easily go 10k+ km between oil and filter changes.

Wese sarcasam was not a necessary way to prove me wrong , 😂
You could have just said it straight with a small explanation and i would have agreed and would have been a proper way 👍🏻

Well everybody has their own brand choices dosnt means liquimoly is no good at all.

    Ok guys,
What I have learnt so far is that all over the world chemicals for oils are supplied by Exxon, and Mobil is a product of Exxon.
The chemicals that are being used by Exxon for Mobil are made solely for Mobil, and they will not supply those specific formulae and chemicals to other companies.
That's a bit shocking thing for me. 😜

how about 140 gear in in the engine

the toyota 2ZR is a ghareeb parwar economical shopping trolley engine - its installed in a cheaply built economical shopping trolley called corolla.

The entire concept of a corolla is "low cost running" thats why toyota spec a lowly down to earth 5w30 oil in it.

I can guarnatee you if toyota specced something like castrol 10W60 in it - their sales would drop like a ball of lead - around the globe.
