    Angry Declining Quality of Corolla

I have purchase Corolla for less than a year (2015 model) and the chrome plating on monograms has started rusting (see the attached photos). I suspect if that is happening to exterior parts, the engine and internal parts are corroding as well.

I talked with Toyota distributor from where I purchased the Corolla and he said it is because where you park the car and it can be removed by polishing. My question is, did I pay more than Rs. 1.7M for such a low quality? I have used cars outside of Pakistan with no such issues even parked outside everyday and assume the imported (Japanese) Toyota in Pakistan also have no such issues.

The Toyota Pakistan is indeed getting cheap and low quality with time!

Dude im not even too happy ... Paid through the nose for Top of the Line with a bit of premium for quick delivery. Overall the car is nice but the seats feel like they are carved out of rock! Havent experienced this rust on decals though even though i live in DHA fairly close to the sea.

Once we start boycotting them, for sure we will see them improving their quality.

Maybe that's the water you wash your car with because I have also faced the same issue 6 years later i.e.in 2016. I have a Toyota Corolla 2011.

Karachi - Korangi, DHA Clifton, cantt areas face this problem.

Get it clean from some experienced car polish person. when parked at home try to keep the car wrapped in car cover.

You didn't get my point... when I paid more than 1.7M shouldn't I get the quality and protection which other major brands offer and secondly why I have to pay for a car cover and take a hassle to cover/uncover every time. Additionally body cover will not stop corrosion of internal parts... right?

Then again, in the past I used to live close to beach and owned a well known brand car always parked outside for years and never had such a problem.

but what can we do ?
    just remove these by polishing
and protect them with a good metal protector/polisher

Same goes for interior plastic quality. Honda is relatively better.

If Quality of Chrome is really good and upto standard, then it doesn't matter if you park car at beach all day long even without cover. IMHO.

this is not a local issue, its a global one in coastal cities - and please dont complain on "I paid 1.7mill for it - the issue is that you bought a corolla - its a shopping trolley and its got cheaply made chrome coated plastic emblems, its not an old grosser mercedes pullman which had steel logos.

My friends I have suffered this corrosion for my 2015 Gli too, and I cleaned it at home and next I use to keep it covered when parked at work and home.

Yes for the quality of these emblems is pathetic, for my car the corrosion popped out the 4th month after purchase.

Our local manufactures, more they localize the cosmetics worse the assembling results, plus the mother companies like Toyota/Suzuki/Honda do not care for what these licenced companies do, they should keep complete check to keep the standards alive at every off-shore factory

My 2006 cultus till 2014 did not showed the rust signs, but this 1year old corolla did.

I am sorry are you part of the police which regulates the issues which can be complained about or which aren't? what you reckon is the minimum price which one has to pay so he can get a right to complain.

Honestly toyota can't do anything for you if you drive your car in a gutter a complain that your car got dirty so sorry for you.

As said above if not the air, it is because of the tanker ka pani you use to wash youe car with
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.
