Default Corolla Finally getting Immobilizer, Shaitaan apko share kernay say rokay ga

    Hello,

Over the last decade almost 2 in 10 Toyota Corolla owner have faced attempts or the actual theft of a car parked outside the house.

In islamabad corolla gets stolen more thn motorbikes, there was this incident 5 months back where thieves cut down the HOUSE GATE and stole the brand new 2 days old Altis Grande.

ONLY BECAUSE THIS CAR NEVER HAD IMMOBILIZER......until now.

Reports are coming in that toyota will be offering immobilizer in corolla from now on.

The only reason i had to buy Aspire 1.5 Prosmatec (for Parents) was that people in our community have lost corolla even before they got their first oil change.

so glad that a deal has been made between Car lifting mafia-Insurance Company & Toyota Indus. (LOL)

PLEASE SHARE THIS NEWS, CUZ SHAITAAN APKO SHARE KERNAY SAY ROKAY GA. :p

Not unless Indus offers it in xli.

City is 1506, xli is 1624, gli is 1800 now 3 lacks is a big margin for competition.

City is facing liana fate between swift and xli.

City has the benefit of similar taxes and near about prices on swift. Corolla has a separate buyer now. And if I'm not wrong xli sales have dropped. People prefer to put in the extra 1.25 lack now more for factory fitted power windows.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

I rented a car about two years ago, it was a prius. This one had a regular metal key to start it, had a simple HVAC panel like that of an old corolla - vinyl seats and basically a very bland car.

OTOH - speaking of ABS - my camry 2002 model doesnt have it. US made car - 2.4, 4A/T - JBL Audio, power windows, power locks, power boot release, steering, mirrors, alloys etc - all the works - except it has no ABS and has drum brakes in the back.

speaking of fleet cars, the police used to buy ford crown victoria in the USA until they were made. The police version had fixed windows in the rear doors - so much so they didnt even bother to install a mechanism in the doors or even wiring. Same with the front window buttons, they used the cheapest parts - no illumination, They didnt even have a spare wheel - they put a bucket in place of it and called it police cruiser accessory.

gauges - no rpm meter, just speedo, temp, fuel, oil pressure. Good foam seat for driver with antistab barrier in it.

Look at the air bag section! Breaks your heart doesn't it? No car manufacturer cares about safety here! No sir, just money!

and why would they? does your govt or any of the pressure groups care about that?

these safety standards you are talking about are IMPOSED not expected in a developing market.

you do realize the airbags cost alot, and with the tax hefty car and disastrous import parts fee structure these cost a fortune in pak.

you know i was just wondering if only pakistan auto policy had these SAFETY FEATURES AS STANDARD and import of Immobilizer/air bag and restraining headrest parts would be FREE of any taxes, every car manufacturer would happily install and then the local pressure groups can force these manufacturers too to install them.

In Grande they are adding another bag along with other goodies and the price increase is not much. The govt has also reduced duties on parts imports.
