    Default Engine Knocking

Engine knocks when it unable to burn fuel easily, if you mix hi octane along with normal by 7:3 ratio it will finish knocking.

    Any other solutions?

    Few reasons of knocking

    Bad Quality Fuel.
    Distributor Settings.

Distributor adjustment is very very sensitive thing to do. If its settings are advance or late, it seriously affects combustion.

My car distributor start leaking bit of oil. I changed it ring, the mechanic couldn’t successfully adjust the same position of distributor as it was before. So my car start knocking too even with 100% hioctane.
I went back to mechanic and asked him to adjust it again. He did, knocking reduced but yet not gone fully. I went again. Eventually after couple of times distributor adjustments, finally its OK now. Even on regular fuel its pick up is like rocket.

Here 100% mechanics do this settings manually. Never heard if someone is doing distributor settings with some machine or with some other instrument. However its v. v. v. important.

Is There Knock Sensor In Your Car?

Make Sure Its Working Fine...Bad Fuel Can Cause Pre-Ignition Resulting In Knock/Detonation.....

Knocking Is Not That FUEL Is Not Burnt Properly...

Its FUEL That Is Burnt Imperfectly Causing Multiple Explosions ..It Can Be Due To Any Hot SPOT Inside Combustion Chamber Or Simply A Very Bad Mixed Or LOW RON Super Unleaded Fuel ..

You Dont Have A Distributor In Corolla X So You Cannot Retard Timing As You Can With Old Distributor Types

Use Good Coolant In A Ratio Of 50/50(Concentrate ) Or Pre-Mixed As It Comes ..If Your Cooling SYstem Is Only Running On Water...Use Caltex Or FUCHS Brand..Even ZIC Is Fine

Make Sure Spark Plugs Are Of Correct Heat Range As Recommended....!

On that car knocking can be caused by
    Coked up engine
    Engine burning too much oil
Extremely rich fuel mixture (leaky injector etc)
Wrong spark plug (hotter spark plug)

Pretty sure if you hook a test tool to it, the car will report a really screwy fuel trim.
