Default A surprising fact: 2009-2011 model has more leg space than the 2012-2014

This is a recent discovery, a bit shocking to be honest. The corolla 2009-2011, and 2012-2014 are basically the same body with a few cosmetic changes, right? i thought so too, but the other day i sat in both cars and saw that the 2009-2011 model has more leg space than the 2012-2014, has anybody else noticed this? if so, any idea where they utilized the extra space?

I felt the padding difference but the padding difference isn't enough to compensate for the leg space. But then again, to each their own, whatever one priorities. I guess I have to look into jdms now, civic can't take a beating, and the corolla is too small. But my last choice would be to cut my spending and buy a new corolla, that I think might have a little decent leg space

Im not sure, the facelift has loads of legroom. Never compared it to the old one though.

The rear has no leg space, even if one is 5 feet tall. The front is uncomfy for a person taller than 6"

I guess if roominess and increased leg space is your choice, go for new Corolla.....more leg room than the previous generation and the seats are also wider....and I am comparing Gli variant here.....I guess padding makes you sit taller and further, thus resulting is less leg room.....guess if you dont want to cut spending, get a premio 2005ish model (comparing prices here)....or you can even got for an Accord within the same price range.....you will be driving in style and have more leg room...yes the ownership cost is more, but then comfort level has a price figure attached to it

I can deal with all costs, just a fact that I travel 100 km a day in local traffic, mileage is an important figure. 12-14 minimum in local

Anyways, returning to the topic. The mystery needs to be resolved, will try to get physical measurements as to where the space went

yes the big mystery....I guess the extra padding in the seats is the result......have a look at seats of both models.....you will see a physical difference in the size.....facelift has extra bulges at the end and front of the seats...pre facelift does not have those profound bulges.....I guess that is the only reason for cramped room as body dimensions and size are the same

If you are being sarcastic state so 😜 even the city has more leg room than this. It's like a joke, the leg room is so pathetic that it makes one want to cry. City kya, heck even cultus has more space than this, i don't know why Toyota did this
