I am getting 13.7 to 14 on Motorway/Highways and 12.5 in city...same car. 7000 kms driven. Try altering driving techniques and using Hi octane.
The tragedy of life is not what we suffer, its rather what we miss.

Which engine oil you are using at this moment? If you are using Taglon, than please switch to Toyota 5w-30 synthetic oil.
Using Taglon in this engine is more like killing your engine by your own hands.

Agree it has more to do with the driving style. The more you "chikoofy" this car, the more it will drink. No need to use hi octane. The PKDm corolla engines are tuned for SGP aka regular. Try Shell which is "unleaded" from a reputable pump. Also idling at a traffic light for more than one minute ruins the average.

As stated above try different pumps. Did you change rims or tires? What is your driving style? aggressive or steady calm?

Engine oil is not a factor here. Taglon will not do any harm.

Taglon has nothing to do with such mileage, I m getting 14 with it in city drive. It's driving habits nd conditions which matters most.

For your information. Taglon 5w-50 is not the recommended oil for this engine, the last recommended grade for 2zr-fe is 10w-30, and if you're pouring something higher than that it's gonna put useless load on engine. In turn all you will get some bad numbers of fuel consumption.

@malik67: as per my experience 9500 km is still the the way to gain better mileage, till now you had only 1 oil change.

wait till 15K run it will improve, in the second service at 10K get the full tune-up like injectors cleaned and tell the 3s for poor mileage.

New car do give poor mileage initially and improve gradually with time and running. Plus keep a halka-haath while accelerating it after 15k to 20k kms it will give a better response (pick-up) and drive experience.

Here is the sheet where I got complete tune-up on 5K kms.

    Why you changed the injectors?
I mean what was the purpose?
My gli is 200,000km driven, and I never changed injectors 😳

    Damn, this is serious.
Go for tuning. Also check the screws of air filter intake.
There can be some kind of air leakage that can result in a higher fuel consumption

Bro do you know how to reset the average meter,by what i can see is you have not reset the fuel average meter since day 1. Try pressing the the left button in the meter for few seconds it will show 0.0 km/l, then drive for some 70 odd km and then see .

Brother try to calculate the average manually. Fill up a tank full and drive till it hits the reserve, then calculate after 2 to 3 fill ups! The numbers on the indicator are sometimes wrong
