    Default 1.6 GLi AUTO (vibration problems)

    Dear All Pakwheelers
    I have a 1999 Corolla 1.6 GLi AUTO. Its on CNG since 1 year. Mashallah no problems while driving on D. But as soon I stop my car on D. The car starts to vibrate. these days its vibrating too much. And if in the same D position if i move to N or P position the car becomes calm in that idle position. I know this is a problem in AUTO Tranny on CNG.

    But any ideas how to minimise the vibration ?

    The idle minimum RPM on N and P is always 1000rpm while on D it drops tpp 900-800. I have installed tomesato EFI CNG Kit. Is their any concern with the advancer or emulator . I also have changed my spark plugs New air filter.


    Do any of you any gud mechanic for AUTO Tranny's in Karachi ?

    Hello!
    looks like engine was getting more load while on D as compared to other ratios of Auto Trannny....!
    Engine Vibration on CNG is Common on low rpms....!try increasing its idle RPM a bit while on D.......!
    what about Auto Tranny Fluid level?? and how much Km's it done since you replace oil........?
    check fluid level and also the oil condition.....if it needs changing...change it....!

    Thanks for replying
    approx 3000 km since oil changed
    oil levels of both tranny and engine are ok
    i tried to increase the rpm but its not increasing on D more than 1300-1400 rpm . Any more help?

    Hello!
    yeah 1300 and 1400 are much higher......it must not go beyond 1000RPM.............still vibrating on 1000RPMs?????
    on other ratios like P and N or in D2.....this still occurs or just in D...?
    as there are some problems occured on Auto cars with CNG...
    Try increasing gas flow from regulator and then check....
    there's a know on regulator....idle mixture is adjusted through that
    clockwise to decrease and anti-clockwise to increase........
    rotate it slowly anti-clockwise...and fell that is it making any difference?

    SORRY I FORGOT TO TELL U THAT
    VIBRATION OCCURS ONLY WHEN I M IN IDLE POSITION IN D , D2 , 1. NO VIBRATION OR ANY SUCH SOUNDS IN P OR N POSITIONS.

    WHENEVER I PUT MY FOOT TO ACCELERATE VIBRATION FINISHES. I THINK LOW GAS FLOW ON D POSITION WHEN I APPLY BREAKS

    Hello!
    khan sahab.....as far as emulator and advancer is concerned...so 1.6Gli got 4A-FE engine which is Distributor Type Ignition System....Advancer is needed in those car which comes with DIS(Direct Ignition System)...means there's no primary coil....nor any distributor.......
    so 1.6 Gli's Timing can be advanced and retarded through Distributor Mechanically...!
    i don't suggest you to mess with timing till you check this.....!there must be some more load on engine on D ratios rather than others...thats why engine need some extra gas supply on idle......
    do check that....and make sure RPM's are not raised above 1000RPM.....!

    Hello!
    forget to mention that Emulator is only for sending false signal to ECU that injectors are working while on CNG....!
    and to start car on petrol then after hitting settled RPM...it automatically converts it to CNG.....
    so if starts like that and then convert and you have no Check Light....Emulator was All good.....

    sitting behind a PC and giving adivce is not always dead on...lol...but i would like to guess that it may be the engine mount also....due to which you may feel the vibration in the car. if the bushings go bad on them....you need some work.
    I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it..and so restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions.

    yeah you said it rightly szuberi......sitting behind a pc and giving advices....thats what i can do when on forums
    engine mounts.....hmmm.....read out the whole........he said when car was on D and D2....it vibrates...and RPM's fell down....and when on P or N.....it idles smoothly....
    so i think engine mount position never changes with Gear ratios ....anywayz.......if its engine mount.....he fell it more when he drive....! its mostly common idle problem on cars with Auto Tranny.....!

    thanks for replying
    i have tried to fix it
    and alh 80% vibration has been finished
    its sometimes normal vibration when i m idle on D with AC open . Its normal on AUTO with CNG.
    Regarding the engine mounts, I have already changed them 3 months back. So its no more engine mount issue. I totally agree with SER_GTR.
    I have fixed the GAS FLOW and my idle RPM's is somewhat near 1000 but not more than this.

    SER...the mounts will be under more stress / use when the car is being driven...and not while parked. so my guess is valid.
    I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it..and so restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions.

    Hello!
    @faiq..........if its almost solve...then thats good ....now some of the vibration can be caused due to many things...maybe it need some timing to be advanced or some air blockage to make ideal CNg mixture....but if its minor...leave it.....!stick with these settings!
    @szuberi...yeah everone have had its own thoughts......as you have your own......i have my own.....!
