    Default Engine Swap

We have corolla 1998XE. Car's engine is still sealed buy sound is very loud and it has started to burn oil (no leakage), there is no smoke from behind. It consumes like 2 liter extra to complete 3000 Km running.

I don't want to spend on overhaul, mechanic have given me estimate of like 30,000 + so I was thinking of swapping engine from 1300 to 1500? Can you guys guide me how much will it cost me? and do you have any good mechanic for it Karachi. Let me know if you guys have any good knowledge about this car + engine.

    Thank you!

Bhai dekh kar engine chose karna. Recently someone on pakwheels did 3 engine swaps still he couldn't find a engine that was not burning oil. Pathano kee warranty kahna main tu warranty hai but you dont know how hard it gets to get them to replace engine or even pay for repair.

If you know someone took a compression gauge along. Mostly engines in market are now Singapore imported ones and these are more abused than Japanese and you need expert eyes to find the right one.
Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go.

I was talking to a mechanic on this issue and he said that indus corolla is very old now - the engines available are fully f'ed and used till their max already. So, finding a good one requires a good deal of effort. But the engine sellers i speak to give guarantee of smoke and oil eating.. But definitely, its the buyer who should be aware and must be too cautious
