    Default Altis 2006 Shot Circuit

    AOA Dear Members,

I have Toyota Altis 2006 model and i never face any problem since the day i buy this car.But last week when i parked the car at night time i feel some burning smell but didnt find any issue and i locked the car. Next morning when i opened the door i feel huge burning smell and also the dipper(which is used to turn on the lights and indicators) was melt and hanging down and also having burning signs at the ignition.

I visited the electrician and he changed the dipper and said that some shot circuit happened and it burn out the wires. Now cars parking lights are not working and and electrician is saying it will take whole day to remove the dashboard and check the wires to fix them.

I am a bit confuse. Can anyone help me is the electrician is saying right or he just want to make money because i never heard or experienced shot circuit issue in cars. And also can anyone help me to suggest any good electrician in Sialkot city?

when the car ignition is off only two things have live 12 Volt from the battery, The starter and the alternator, anything else if remained on even when you left the car would have to be aftermarket, any stereo or fog lights or modifications to headlights signals etc installed? or possibly a bad alarm system connection from alternator or other live 12V source shorted it out.
If everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane!

Nope no additional lights or equipment was installed.only security switch was installed almost 4 years back but never face any problem. I personally think it might be because the car was driven from Lahore to Sialkot continuously on high beem( My Cousion my driving)I guess this might heat up the coils.
