    Default Speedometer display wrong speed

My indus corolla ae100 speedometer shows speed with a difference of 20kmh less,Means when its on 40kmh it shows 20kmh and when its 100kmh it shows 80kmh what could be the real problem?
I got it checked by several local electritions but they say no solution to this problem or mashwara dete hain "ise aise hi rehne do"😑

You can change the meter or speedometer part in it.

Does it have a digital type meter (i mean your Car is EFi or carbeurator)
EFIs have digital input to meter via electric wires and then they display using simple needle.
while old ones have a physical wire which goes directly to meter and its analogue.

Calibration can also be done, but some expert can do it depending on the car.

But he is saying a difference of 20 km/h , so this may not be the reason.
Tyres can make a difference of 2-6 km/h usually, (because there is a certain limit on tyres too) one cannot install 265/55/15 etc on a corolla AE100 (which may make a huge 20 km/h difference)

Please check this too, that there is always a difference of about 5 km/h than actual speed in almost all cars by default.
like if you are going actually at 115 km/h , your meter will show 120.
while if you check via OBD or GPS it shows you about 115.

Then, probalby your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is malfunctioned and giving less value to the ECU.

Thats a Huge difference, it is not good at all for the health of Car's suspensions. Anyways, Your meter maybe calibrated but not recommended at all. (i dont know if someone can calibrate those meters or not)

The only option is drive with less speed. As you know when you are going at 100 km/h on meter, so its actually 110. So you can easily stay at 100 and avoid tickets.

Its not the exact fault, but that sensor may be the culprit.
If you can find some spare sensor you can change to check if it corrects the problem or not.

because this type of error is bery hard to diagnose with any ECU diagnostics tool (computerized error scan) etc.
As your sensor is giving data (and not totally malfunctioned)
