Default Gli AT or Altis 1.6 Need suggestions

    Dear All,

I am planning to book my first ride, I am bit short on budget but have managed to stretch it to GLI AT. Can you guys suggest if the additional 150K are really worth it. I will delay the purchase and wait for some time if that is the case.

I would have loved the CVT but it simply is out of my league for now. Plus any upgrade from a Mehran is a given

It's not just the 150K that increases the cost, but also the registration would go up, taking to around 200.
Now you get a 1.6L newer engine, a better gearbox, less noisier experience, better performance and alloys. Apart from that it is a GLi. Upto you if you think these things are worth 200K. The panel they give is crap so won't count it in.

The registration cost in Sind is not high, the road price difference is 157k. The better engine and alloy rims are the only plus or is there something that i am missing. Help will be appreciated

GLi At, will be a wise choice.

if you plan for Altis 1.6, then keep in mind the fuel ave of 1.8, registration fee annual token tax charge is more.

Go for Gli, and then change to CVT when you have the budget InShaAllah. I have done same, after passing from your phase. And by the time you have budget, a new facelift will also be available

If you have to keep the car for 3 4 years then you should opt for 1.6 as 1.3 in under power.
But if you have to sell it within 1 2 years then go for 1.3 as
    1) re sale value is good
    2) registration cost is low
    3) selling out 1.6 after a year can result in loss of 3 4 lacks.

My recommendation would be GLi A/T. It is a perfectly capable car that wont let you down. Admitedlyi do agree that it is underpowered but 1.6 doesnt seem like a beast either and the power upgrade from the GLi is only slightly. In some instances GLi performs nicely and has adequate power.
Save some money and buy the GLi and then when the facelift comes you can go for 1.8.

I have driven GLi 1.6 extensively(the newer model shares the same engine) and would prefer city over that.

The only significant change is the engine, 1.6 would be slightly economical and faster. I would say get the gli and later when budget allows get the 1.8

Gli has a 1300cc engine that produces 84 HP.
While the Altis 1.6 comes with a 1600cc 120 HP.
That definitely puts things straight. That's all there is to it, but I'll tell you what mate. These cars aren't under powered even if they're 1300 like the swift. It depends on the technology they use in their engines. The Mazda RX8 for example comes with a 1300cc engine, and it's a proper sports car. So, yeah, you can't say it's under powered. Yes, it is as COMPARED to the Altis 1.6, but that works, y'know?

Good choice brother, i have also booked Gli Auto expected delivery in January first week. Also tested the drive with one my friend and it is not at all under powered and is good family car to drive. So with the budget in hand 1.3 gli auto is the best option.

1.6 ALTIS has significant power increase over old 1.3 NZ FE engine. its 38 HP which is huge.
1.6 Altis has best re sale value and has longest queue for delivery with toyota. and the milage of 1.6 Altis is better than 1.3 AT GLI.

its faster, better equpped and far more satisfying car as compared to GLI AT. Go for it.

Altis 1.6 has the best resale in corolla range as of now. you can go and check this with dealers as well. it has longest wait time for delivery and is the hot cake of the moment.

What is 1.6l Altis mileage? There is only auto variant (Super ECT) available with 1.6l, right?
