    -which model it is?
-does noise change when you acelerate in parking?
-have you check the oil from dipstick, automatic cars have a gearoil chk stick in gearbox next to engine.
-have you had car recently washed from underneath in a service station.

-have you check the oil from dipstick, automatic cars have a gearoil chk stick in gearbox next to engine.,,, chk gearoil in morning before engine start.

have you been driving slow in city recently?

have bolts checked by mechanic, if none is slightly loose.

-if oil is ok,, go for a drive, not in traffic but some quite road where you can maintain say 80km/hr speed for at least 10 mins.

    GEAR LOCK MAY NEED GREASING.
As you would know that there is a gear lock which prevents the car from shifting from P mode unless you press the brake pedal. The noise you hear when you press the brake pedal is the noise of that lock retracting.
Its usually happens when you either carelessly put the car into P while car is running (running slow while parking and you push it into P) or it happens if you park the car at inclined road or ramp and shift it into P and then when you try to take it out of P mode it takes a little more strength than usual, so try to avoid putting the car into P until you pull the handbrake.
Its not a big deal. But getting it checked is better.

    Hi,

Get the car checked by a good mechanic, there may be a problem with clutch plate and/or pressure plate.
