Coz dey introduced more height, n more height means more chances of reducing road grip n more chances of turnover!
so think 4 ur slf wich 1 'll b da best!

I have the corolla GLi, its a good car, the brakes are fine unless you drive like crazy, the brakes work fine upto 80 to100 km , if u get above that then for sure your car will slip while applying sudden brakes, Its been about 2 years since i have the car with me ,and although the brakes are not good , still i havent had any major problems with it.
So driving style counts more then brakes.

GLI is a good car and yeah after speeds excess of 100km/h u press ur foot hard on any cars brake and see what happens, no doubt that they are not good! but still if u drive like a sensible human being ALL'S WELL!

go for it.no problem with brakes. Its just propganda. Just go to a rent shop hire the car for one day and check the brakes for yourself. Then if you satisfied go for it. i dont find any problem in its brakes

Better to go for CivicEXI, if u find gud one 2004 or 2005; It is much better option. I myself compared drive of xli and exi, there is hell of difference. with rolla u are always scared while braking or turning
May u be blessed wid the car u like most

i m usin corolla xli since 1ug 2005. never had problems with brakes since i never applied them above hundred on motorway or gt road but last month right after eid i went multan for a wedding and on GT road near multan at almost 100 or 110 i applied full brakes cos on motor bike took wrong turn and came just in front of me. though my car didnt roll but it wasnt one percent in my controlas if u slip on ice like skating. i had my family with me. thanx god there were fields on the road sides and y crash cost was only the front bumber and head light with no injuries. otherwise if it had been those solid blocks besides GT road no way i could save my family. for sure i m no more corolla fan and brakes do have a problem. i m dead sure my driving style wasnt nuts either as someone said earlier. honestly my cultus that i had earlier had a way better road grip.

Other cars breaks are not that good too, so why bash rolla all the time.

I am driving a new Xli since January 2005 and have a few skids on sudden breaks, but car was never out of control, it skidded for a few yards in straight line.

If you change stock General tyres, breaking improves a lot. Go for 195/60 or 185/65 type Dunlops or Yokohama.

If you are a careful, traffic rulez abiding driver, then you will have no problem.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

    @uk73.
Search the PW forums and you will find a lot of stuff about the corolla brake problems.
    Happy Browsing.
If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

Brakes in corolla are FINE, its the CRAPPY general tires which are low quality and totally undersized. Change your tires, ie get wider ones, well as wide as you can without changing the rims, or if you want to change the rims, get even more wider ones, but make sure you find the right size that will work without messing up the odometer/speedometer calibration.

Also make sure you have the proper inflation pressure. After doing that and having proper tires, you will see the night and day difference

    Hello!
never seen any Corolla hitting any car from back due to poor braking nor any kinda strange thing.....
cheap tyres can cause the problem + Z-Gen Corolla's have more ground clearance so it can cause some problem as you say it skids....so better tyres can solve all problems...
brakes of Corolla are all fine.....!
