    Default Experts advice about XLI

Hi and sallam to all PAKWHEELS members. I am a new member of pakwheels. And have very low knowledge about Cars. I am planning to buy a toyota corolla xli 2003 on CNG. I want to ask experts and owners about problems related to XLI Such as “brakes”.
Cheep solutions and what parts to replace how much do they cost. And can I increase performance of XLI.

    @ Newguy

I have a XLi and a Se Saloon. Both used to slip and slide on hard braking but I've found the solution to it. I installed 15" Branded Rims (lighter than others) and 195 tires from Dunlop (original, not counterfeit).

So now, the car responds to braking like it should and I have no problem with it. Theres no real problem with the brakes. Theres just the problem of GENERAL TIRES which come with the car stock !

@Newguy....is XLI your only option or you have others too....myself was also trying to buy a car in this range and was asking and roaming around for about 1 year....and ended up buying a 2003 civic vti which is in my opinion a better option. It is loaded like anything and has no issues like xli has. Rest depends on your consent.

Don't waste your money for XLI. Go for VTI.

Corolla is a car for hardcore masucline hunkies, what r u waiting for? buy 2 and give one to me! lol

But for God's sake don't buy any aunty's car, like Honda Civic, it is best suited to mid-aged and nakhra wali aunties.

Corolla is the best mid size car available in Pakistan ... its name and re-sale is the proof of its commitment to reliability, comfort and safety.

I too have 3 Corollas at my home and never experienced any brake problem with them, however I did change its tyres and rims to make it look even more dashing!!!

Corolla with no good options (power windows etc.) plus substandard brakes is simply not worth the tagged price!!

Well I am no big fan of XLI & definetly toyota provides a lot less options in price compare to other cars.
However I think most of the people here in Pakistan have some sort of power windows complex. Just like Americans have in 1960 about the radio option.
Japanaese captalizes on that and started providing radio in their standard models and took the market by storm where as its will cost less than 20 $ to american manufacturers if they start providing it in their cars.
So Guys power windows is not that big of an option as most of you think.
Regarding the brakes its an issue and whatever you do with tires and rims the problem can be mitigated but could not be 100 % removed. To make it 100 % comparable to other cars like civic you need to add bigger calipers and softer suspension.
Sorry If I have offended some one but this is not my intentions.
Moderater if the mail is too out of line you can sure delete it any time.
If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.
