if money is not the issue, 2.0D is much better. It has a powerfull diesel engine. It will keep its resale value higher.

Its the same level of comfort, infact 2.0D must be more easy to drive because of his powerfull engine. Guys, am I right? Xli is 1.3 where as 2.0D is 2000cc.

there the exact same car except for the engine!....exact same meaning totally stripped down w/ no power windows, power locks, cd player, colored sidemirrors, rear mount brake light, diff steering wheel, etc etc...all these feature are only found on the altis/2.0d saloon...

the only main diff is the engine...and even here the petrol is a better engine...it runs cleaner, will perform better, and is smoother...if the diesel were to race the petrol, the petrol would win...there's absolutely no pick on the diesel....

and please dont say theres a diff in comfort and ones easier to drive they the same $@#%$# thing

2.OD is economical which is nice thing. It cost less per liter to drive more.It is sturdy due to to diesel engine. There are ample reasons why it is expensive compare to 1.3.

but remember diesel is always expensive to maintain(oil, filters etc)...right.....so the amount that u save per litre would be spent on its maintenence.....so(diesel)not very economical as it used to be a few years ago....i prefer petrol

    cheerzzz

but dont go for the XLi, it is a very underpowered car and will not be that fun to drive as the 2.OD - XLi wont respond if u short shift and wont be economical.

Just go for the 2.OD but be aware that its maintainance costs are a lil bit high!

yar i would say xli is better in drive coz it`s petrol
disel has noise which also disrupts it`s comfort wat do u think
man it has steady drive but no pick....
petrol always has more pick what ever the powers are?
also xli is simple no popwer pack and windows
    this is in gli........
which is 90000 more than xli`s price..
make of both the cars are same what do u think????
    I love to over rev!

I suggest u get your priorities rite. Do u want fuel economy, robust construction, comfort? Go 4 the 2.0D. If u want accelaration, lower price, CNG conversion. Go for the XLi. Its that simple.
