What happened probably was washing of the engine too often which made some sensor short circuit and blew the ECU. The warranty is gone as it is almost two years old now.

Try the insurance companies. They have totalled vehicles which are write-offs and you may be able to source one from there.

May be u can claim insurance for it as well?!

    Cheers

    @ jeepaholic..

i have found a source who has an ecu available.. with him.. for a manual altis... i could not confirm by part numbers...the only way i can confirm with him is by telling him the type of transmission...

he is asking 30000 rs... he will come and install in ur car...at his responsibiliity...
i will charge an extra 8000 rs.. for arranging this setup..
    total =38000/-

if your car is manual transmission ..then i think we can strike a deal if this is affordable for you...
this ecu is very hard to find... thats why its a bit expensive...

i can get the ecu for 30K rs... but that will put the whle responsibility on me... which i cannot take..
    rs 30 k total.

if you are willing to take this responsibility on your head... you can pay me in advance and i can deliver you the ecu within 3 days... if i fail to deliver in 3 days.. i will hand u back the money...i wont b responsible for the working of the ecu..however it will be cquired after checking... but still i wud not be responsible...

i think option 1 is better for you..

in any case do confirm me the transmission type

have you spoken to toyota abpara?

how about the guys in the 2nd hand markets (sultan ke kuh, shershah, etc..)

i'm sure the easiest (and cheapest) thing to do would probably will be to find a crashed one or perhaps a front clip from one of the scrap markets. i'm shocked ot hear that such a part costs 30K,... i'm sure you can find one for less from the scrap places.

i'll spread the word to my mechanics/electricians and will let you know if i hear anything.

    1.5lacks for an ECU????

wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a scrap engine and scavenge it?
