    Default why does pakistani corolla have rear disk brakes

    why the hell does pakistani corollas have rear disk brakes...check out this web page.....
    http://www.toyota.com/corolla/specs.html?s_van=GM_TN_COROLLA_SPECS

    its because of rear wheels having disk brakes instead of drum brakes like in the rest of the world that our corollas are so unstable and skid alot...

    The problem is not with brakes, lets say Corolla in UAE has the same brakes but no one complains. The reason in Pakistan might be one of two, either Drivers are incompetent (which is not the case, IMO)... .. or due to the terrain and bad road conditions, the ride is little higher then the other markets, the suspension setup is different in order to coupe with the roads, which in response causes instability problems.

    hahahahhaha

    @phanta
    i have a 98 model, 4 wheel disc civic. i believe this model is famous for road grip and brakes and it doesnt have abs or traction control.

    please dont blame rear disc brakes or rolla. its a combination of factors which doesnt make it stop
    Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    the real question is that why are the brakes of pakistani corolla dirrefent from the rest of the world
    1. stupid drivers
    2. bad road surfaces
    3. usage of (local) general tyres
    4. drums are ancient technology
    5. pakistani rollas ride height is higher (upset chassis dynamics)

    I hope you ealise that most cars are region specific, for example the local civic, you have to buy the top of the line to get dual airbag whereas in the rest of the word it is standard on the civic.

    or a merc for PK will have a larger radiator than one for the US.

    i can give you unlimited examples...
    1. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, 2. Resale wont save your life in an accident, 3. Genius has limits, stupidity has none, 4. Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level & beat you with experience, 5. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young! 6. انّا للہ و انّا الیہ راجعون

    drivers were stupid,,roads broken,,local tires all these conditions are true with the old rolls, city, lancer, sunny as well..............
    putting all the blame on conditions and not on indus motors is not fair....if our rollas have a high center of gravity then all other parameters of the car must be changed accordigly........4x4 vehicles are even higher but their brakes and suspension is designed accordingly..........indus motors should have taken up this mattar more seriously with toyota japan......they didn't partially because we would buy corollas even if they had no brakes at all!!!........... because it is a sound investment......

    @phantomwarrior
    LOL that is a very good observation and i agree 100%. the honest truth is that there is VERY little R&D when it comes to pakistani built cars. the main reason the rolla was notorious about its brakes is that by simply raising the height the PK rollas whad upset dynamics,.. and they never seemed to have put this by the japanese,... but i wonder how do they have longer springs in these things without permission and approval from the japanese,.. unless they are making the springs here
