2nd Oil change at 5000 km....................

3rd at 10,000 km............................ and so on.

Both oil changes are accompanied with oil filter change also.

what does it costs u for an oil change on toyota motors?
costs me 930rs per oil cnage @honda ppl includes oil nd filter.
its always better to use low grade oil nd change earlier then to use high grade nd use it more.i use havolin synthetic nd use it for upto 6000kms although they claim its better at 8000kms too

Well on 1,000km check up in Feb 2005, Toyota guys said the oil was ok and no need to change.

Since then I am chaning oil+oil filter after every 5,000 Kms (usning Toyota Motor Oil) and air clearner after 10,000 to 15,000 kms (depending if it gets ok after air spray).

Generally I have been going to Toyota Islamabad motors for all maintainance after four-five months. Prices of Oil and airfilter have increased at every visit, but there was decrease in the price of airfilter.

This is what they charged last week:

Labour 100 rs for oil changes (unchanged)

Oil filter 595 rs (was 425 in Jun 05)
air filter 810 (was 1025 in Jan 06)
Engine oil 1050 (was 750 in Jun 05)

    _______________________________
    In February 07
    Oil filter 583
    Oil 1020
    ________________________________
    August 2006
    Oil filter 475
    Oil 960
    ________________________________
    In January 2006
    Oil filter 460
    Oil 820
    air filter 1025

I thnik that it's time to go back to regular caltex oils and Guard filters as 3S is costing too much.

I am not Toyota but i say use synthetic oil and drive longer than 3000 kilometrs.. to me 3000 km sounds like changing Honda CD70 engine oil!

I have driven cars 5000 plus km on synthetic oils. and engine wear out life is same.. ofcourse cars wear out with time/usage yr new car never remains same.

    avoid cheap oils and filters.

color changing of synthetic oil helps you decide when to get rid of old oil.

    @Autophile.
So they have finally changed the price of the air filter.
The orignal air filter is the one that is made in japan. The one they are selling now is of Thailand. (Toyota Islamabad)
I went to toyoya and they gave me the Thailand one and it was really bad after 6-7K.(I change airfilter after every 10k.)
When the next time I went to them and they tried to gave me the same filter at the old rate I told them I dont need this one I need the orignal one. And after some inspection in their inventory they are able to pull the orignal Japnese one.
Where can one go when Even the authorized workshops have parts from different countries with a lot of difference in perfromance.
If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

I see, at least they are not cheating on this, I would have not notices that if they gave me this airfilter at the price of Janapnese one. But clogging of air filter is also dependent on the environment in which a vehicle is driven and it can get clogged sooner if you drive too much outside Islamabad, for instance Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad, etc.

so what is final opinion for him to change oil?

change intervals depend on the type, grade and quality of lubricant used.
try to use mobil's super xhp. it is a nice lubricant for change intervals ranging from 3000 - 5000 kms depending upon the mod of driving.
only go for shell, caltex or mobil brands.
