    Default Corolla 74-Pick Problem on CNG

    I am a very proud owner of a Corolla 74 (will post the pics very soon). Purchased by my dad 33 years ago, overhauled just once in 1984, this is a rare piece of japanese craftmanship. Its 100% stock except a standard Lendi Renzo CNG kit. Since last one month I have noticed that the car has lost pick on CNG and the other cars keep overtaking me on GT road which is frustrating. May be my engine has gone weak and its losing some of compression, or some other reason? Is there any device available in market which can improve the pick of my car? Are there any latest models of CNG which can improve the pick of the car? Should I change the plugs or jets etc? will it effect my CNG consumption? Any good workshop in Rawalpindi/Islamabad or Lahore where I can get the car checked? Currently I am in Jhelum can any one nearby help me with valuable advice on the subject?
    Thanks, a brother in distress

    Your engine is too old. If it was running on petrol it would probably still be worth keeping. But you've given it CNG- it won't last so long.

    well you have very nice ride well i think your engine is old and may it 8 valve if you swap i think 4age16V will be best option comes in ae86 which is rear wheel drive car not to much problem for swap but if you swap 1.6gli it will fit but i think little modification

    A degree of fabrication is required in both cases, none of them will be bolt on fits. And the 1.6GLi swap would only require the engine to be mounted vertically instead of horizontally- no other complications.

    Dont go for a swap. If its orgincal 3K engine than a good overhaul will do justice. Car should be judged on its merit, dont expect a macho performance which can keep it up with the mighty Xli

    @spectra
    Damn right!

    @zac
    Get your engine overhauled.
    No swapping.
    An orignal machine should be kept orignal.
