    Default Xli CNG average

Hi I have been getting 170, 180, 195 and tonight I got more than 200 kms on 56 Kg cylinder on 2005 Xli during all city driving and 95 percent ac.

The red light came at 180 or so and at 200 kms there was some gas for more kms. I went for filling as there were no que at I-8 Markaz Shell pump around 11.35pm. Filled full tanks for 320 rs, gas filled 8.23kg.

The car had been running on petrol till March 20, 2008.

Maintained at 3S Toyota dealers, but I never allowed them to fiddle with cars tuning. The car is on same tuning on which it came from the factory.

Only this time I used Shell semi-synthetic oil, otherwise it was all TMO 2000.

The ODO shows 32000 Kms now.

    CNG usage worksheet

    Xli CNG average -548262

Excellent milage by a 1300 cc car on CNG. It is really economical.
On the other hand Vitz 1.0L is giving 80-90 km/ 55 litre cylinder. Vitz may be a good car with new technology but it is NOT AT ALL good on CNG.

I filled the gas from Kalar Kahar MSA on Thursday for 450 rupees and it gave me 185 kms, with full load and AC up to Faisalabad. And that was motorway gas which I filled for the fist time because the queue was long at that time. Normally I exit at Bhera and fill from Chan CNG, or exit at Balkasar and fill from the third CNG station.

Hhahaha, bhai fixed it that way on my own because the lights were hidden behind the steering and while driving I had to make effort to look at the lights. I asked the installer to swap position with the fog light button, but it was too lose for that. So this is my own jugar

    @elvis840;
Get the same CNG kit manufacturer advancer/emulator for advance timing, fuel economy and better pickup and you will see your XLI 2005 will rock because i think its best for using CNG.

@Porsche_Maker. Thanks so much Yeah the highway run is an advantage, but when I was living in I-8, 180-190 was normal and 220 sometimes. And yes the breaks are so much fun, free adrenaline rush Thanks God no collision so far after 80K Kms and nearly seven years.

Two days back, I have made a Radiator connection with CNG kit which I was never aware about and exactly after 146km(within town) cng ended.

So I am able to make a slight difference, you can also try this.

After this, i will also try to install lamba on it.

    @talhawaleed
i do not get your point, waht do you mean by:
    Radiator connection with CNG kit

    how do u did it

also Q2. what do you mena by lamba( is it emulator)

when i discussedw ith service manager at toyota, he replied than in khi by corolla it is impossible to get 180-190 km in 55 cylinder

however he pointed that most of owner either change stock tire's size & use bigger /smaller tires
    some also change rim size

this cause malfunction, reading of odo meter so may be those who claim 180, 190km they might change tire stock's size and so geeting these

2nd may be odo meter & speedometer are faulty so they should check from 3s dealers their odometer if they have not change tire's size

Tire size change does not have much effect on odo just 4 - 5 kms in some cases. See how it works

@ autophile agreed and i also understand

i also found several years ago on internet some changes of odo reading with stock tire size but during my visit to Japan Toyota's in 2008, they did not agreed with this and told that it depends on various factors including the manufacturing of odometer

i also showed manager similar links from the internet but they told toyota will not held any responsibilty to endorse/ agree with the readings of such web sites, such softwares because it varies from the odometer of vendor to vendor

Well I have been using a Garmin GPS for couple of years in my car and I checked the speed on it. While speedo was showing 120 kms/hr. GPS gave a speed of 124 Kms/hr.

Now most of the phones are equipped with a GPS so you can tally your speedo with it.

so how much different stock tire size you used with differnce of 124 and 120? it is negligible.

on internet variety of such sites which gives difference in readings of odo in case you change stock one

but again as i told that when i discussed with toyota service manager in japan , they told me toyota is not responsible for malfunctioning in odo and speedo redaings if some one not follows the recommended sizes mentioned by toyota, he told that analogue old meter were better as they did not did much differnce and also resume if you again put back stock size but problem with digital odo that once it gets disturb, then even if you again put back stock size, it will not resume correct reading unless you correct it again by digital meter device

in my recent trip to uae & saudi arabia, my junior used same GPS navigator and tally speed with it because he put some sporty low profile tires but many times caught by speed radar & caught by patrolling highway police

when 1 moment i interrupt & told highway police that it was under limit as we were tally with GPS Navigator but they told politely that also your navigator software might have issue ,not showing correct speed

they showed their radar software to satisfy us that what was speed during journey and surprisingly it had variation of 10

after that i strictly ordered him to drive at least 20 less than designated speed
