    Default Toyota Altis Fuel Consumption

    Salaam.

    I just wanted to inquire whether the fuel consumption of my vehicle is normal.

    I went to Peshawar from Islamabad (F-11) & back in about 30L (or perhaps even 27L) of 87 grade octane. Trip was in the daytime and on the motorway. Barely drove into PSH, and then started return journey. Weight was about 150kg + vehicle weight, NO CNG cylinder and AC was on throughout.

    The vehicle is Toyota Altis 1.8 VVt-i A/T Petrol and has 49,000km on the meter.

    Is this consumption okay?

    Thanks.

    Consumption in city for altis auto is 9-10 km/l. For highway one can safely add 2km. My estimate is you covered about 330km for the round trip. Divide that by 30 and you get 11km/l which is pretty much inline for an altis auto.

    @bk
    Okay.

    @fobak
    Well, certainly over 300km, but Im not exactly sure. I forgot to set the trip meter. But if you know the distance of M1 it could help me a lot...I think its about 180km because one way was about 1:30 as it says on the slip i got from the toll booth. So if its 1:30 x 120km/h=180km.

    IF thats true, then its good. Because that means 360km + 30 (to and from M1)=390km in 30L.=13km/L with AC

    I seriously doubt that an Altis 1800cc, also automatic, can give more than 7-8 km/l in city with AC on!

    Haven't driven an Altis, but Galant GDI 1.8 automatic is giving 3-4 km in City!! Of course, its 1998, and Altis is brand new, but still can't be more than twice....

    Highways are a different story...you may easily get above 12 km/l...

    I agree with Wahaj12.
    I have Altis 2007 Model and i bought it 0 Meter in 2007. That car used top gives me Maximum 8 km/l with AC on in Lahore. On Motorway, max, it gives me 10 km/l with AC on.
    Now i m planning to sell it coz of this very Low Consumption.

    Thanx for agreeing, Kashan2010...most people do not accept it..
    Even 8km in City is pretty good, i would say.

    Youre getting 12km/l in the city! My car is excellently maintained, and gives barely 10 :s ; on the highway it looks like about 12...how are you getting so much?

    There was a gentleman on some forum who owned an auto altis and then replaced his original plugs with Denso Irridium Power IK-16. After that he claimed an improvement of 2kmpl in his previous mileage. I am also looking for IK-16 these days for the same reason as i own an auto altis too. Someone who is using altis with IK-16 may like to comment..

    In case of Altis auto a lot depends on your driving style.
    Depending on that your mileage in city can very from 9KM to 12 KM
    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.
