    Default Toyota-Indus Corolla 2008 - Official Thread

    Due to the increasing no. of Corolla 2008 threads, the administration of PakWheels.Com has decided to make a dedicated thread for the Toyota-Indus Corolla 2008. The thread will remain sticky in the 'Wheels in Pakistan' forum till the first week of official launching.

    PakWheels.Com is not a biased medium which serves to boost the popularity of one particular product, however due to the uneducated behavior demonstrated by certain members acting as brand ambassadors the administration is left with no choice but to take this step.

    48-hours ban will be given to those members who will start a fight on the comparison of the car with any other car.

    Any further threads started about the Toyota-Indus Corolla 2008 will result in immediate closure and a possible ban for the offender.

    If you want to post anything regarding the car post it in this thread be it spotting, price information, specifications, comparisions, pictures, etc.

    @toofast
    100% is on the imported cars not on locally manufactured one.. correct me if i am wrong... this thing is really over priced... i guess indus just want to stand with civic...

    @ addydegr8
    any idea what is the price of Civic in KSA...
    Tax can make some difference but the difference of 5 lacs is way too big...

    Salam

    yaaro I am starting to like this car. I don't know about you guys but I liked the meter. But it should not be called "All New Corolla" as the engine is the same old one.

    Still me likes it

    Apart from cruisetronic what sets this car apart from all others is the multi-info display giving range, average, time elapsed etc.

    @TruEye
    This is a Toyota thing. Even my Lexus has it under steering.
    Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

    ^ its more like a one-size fits all solution, I know Toyota outsources the CC module from Rostra.

    They've been doing that for a very long time. Our '93 camry used to have the CC controls in the same place as our '04.

    Yesterday I visited the Toyota Show room and when I opened the Trunk its inner sheet is not there I called the sales person and asked this he told me this is not in all models. I am shocked you spend 18 lacks and still you open the trunk and see all lock wires and empty place. In last when I am leaving he came to me and said “from market its available in just 500 rupees so you can purchase this from market.”

    Mubarak ho i jst noticed no engine changes... Taliyan... Its jst a stupid face lift nuthing khas realy, but as i said earlier luks trendy and impresive, love at first sight, unlyk civic which tuk tym to reach hearts, (atleast mine) but again the price tag is so very unjustifid, i hope the gli would atleast have a optional s.r and a.t...
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    I donot understand what is the use of Cruise control in Pakistan? I think its only useable when you r in Motorway.. for city driving its useless.

    In Mid 80's I hd mazda 929 with this facilaty and i never used that...

    I had a look at it yesterday and my findings are as below:

    Cramped cabin space compared to E120 corolla
    Big boot.
    Seats are small and squeezed.
    Dash board does not give an elegent feel. Its just plastic and i bet those boxes will rattle over a period of time.
    Gives a small car feel from driving seat, which is good for some people.
    Door opening latches from inside are pathetic.
    Same engine as Altis but ECU is placed in engine bay which is calling for trouble.
    And that multi function display will be 60% useless on CNG

    Overall, i think they have deviated a lot from the attributes which made corolla a success in past.
    Keep a cool head and wear seatbelts!
