i dont think swaping an engine in a car designed for around 70-80 HP means you dont have the do anything else.

all cars are designed with the Hp they have otherwise its no surprise one can run into a tree

pls dont mislead another about engine swap in simplest thing on earth, you have to adjust car accordingly to the purpose it will be designed for and make sure everything after swap is realiable working condition especially fixing in parts which wernt in use for a while.

on second thought its good idea to redo the 93 made car in 09 if one plans to use it, instead of using it in its original condition.

in exterior modifications i would say...dont use any body kits.... no spoilers.... just use Low profile 16" rims and lower the car just a little bit..... and tint the windows.... rest the beauty of 1993-2001 corolla is great and fantastic .... so leave the car in its condition... except if u want to swap the grill and put a trd black grill and use HID's or projector lights.... rest i would say i love this corolla....

2.0D s tranny is quite solid as its heavier engine compared to petrol engines and also got more low end torque as compared to petrol cars...

    @wasey
depends on which petrol engine yr comparing to on low end torque - any petrol engine with easy exhaust flow out will tend to loose on lowend, unless one designs more backpressure on lowend and less backpressure on high exhaust design like corvette

I Think He Don't Need What You Have Told Him @Levin

He's Asking For Some Simple Mods I Think.......!! Swapping Engine's Is Not A Game For Every 2nd Person.....!!
The One He Have Is 2.0D...He Will Face More Problem's Than A Normal XE Or GL EE100 Will Face Getting Swapped With A Series....!!

Fueling And Some Electricals Will Create Problems In That....!!

My Advice Is To Get 3C-T Swapped If You Really Are A Diesel Engine Lover...........Else Any A Series Engine Will Be A Wise Choice.....!!

    Agreed with SER_GTR

swapping engines is not everyones cup of tea (for a lack of a better term)

if you are interested in swapping engines go for a 7A-FE engine (the neglected A series family member) and get it done by a competent mechanic and electrician (for wiring)
plenty of low end torque and with a couple of mods you'll be blowing competition like paki 1.8's and civic 1.8's)

no need to get technical with you as you wont understand anything now

but be warned a swap involves literally Blood sweat and tears and big holes in your pocket

so only if you are a 150% in love with cars you can easily pull this off , but if you're doing it for shughal seriously dont go down that road

be also warned Toyota aftermarket performance parts are expensive and will cost you an arm and a leg []

and modifying Toyota's is not a joke

    thank you and good night.
