If i were you. I'd get rid of the AFM, plonk on the MAP and use the open throttle setup. Like i said, a 20V isnt a 20V if you dont hear it howl!! I dunno how you're coping with the brakes cuz the brakes on the EE are GOD AWEFUL. Get a braided hose set and rear disc conversion and a strut brace front and rear to stifen her up. Drop her a couple of inches and she'll look the mutt's nutts!

i got new disc/pads and drums. so its not a 9 yr old brake. most of important mechanical parts were already replaced even before i did swap, actually i worked on its 2e, (new belts and all) before i decided swap.,,,, awful brake?, ok, but who says lahore roads are that clean, most roads i drive gone slippery, and dirt on them, gives a abs hard time. i can hardly go above 80km/hr in city, and due to extra weight of engine, front tires skid less. there was only one incident, i braked hard, when this cygnus v8 guy refused to give me way and jump in my lane.car braked pretty good from 100km to 40km , front wheels didnt loose grip, only rear. comparing with two other cars i have, (gli 1.6 auto, and exi-civic,. brake is not bad, ofcourse if you wanna cruise at extreme speeds, you need larger discs / bigger cylinders etc.

today i decided to stop at GoodYear on MM alam road, to take a look at 350z. the sticker on it said2800,000rs.,plus) BOY! richman's ride.
i dont think 350z is worth that much, if one needs it that bad, go to dubai, earn there and buy it much cheaper.

Its good to see experts admitting that brakes in EE90 are awfull. Even newer models have the same problem.

Yes Spectra, the brakes on the Corolla SUCK. They would'nt stop if your life depended on it. Honda has better brakes and the Spectra just has stoppers that could put some 6 pot brembos to shame!
    Damn you Toyota! DAMN YOU!

Nothing to take things that seriously brother. SPectra has moderate performance, nothing to brag about it either but they do not make u feel afraid of an emergency stop.
I have had my share of corollas and i do feel afraid when i drive them.
Nana jee use to have corollas in all eras 1974, 1976, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1988. He is no more otherwise he musy have got later models as well
    I had a 1994 Gli, a 1998 Gli, a 2001 2.0D and now a 2004 Gli
Braking is an issue in these cars. older ones were better. I also have a 1974 corolla which my taya jee bought himself brand new.

So corolla runs in the family.
Dont think of me as many around here who only brag about there own cars. i try to be as neutral as i can and try talking based on my own expereinces.

Dad liked the kia so he bought it. i would have bought a sunny or an Optra, but not a Toyota.

    Nothing personal.

Guys who invest so much to make their rides faster should also consider upgrading the breaks. whats the purpose
"Paiyaan taiz bari hai, magar rukti nahi hai".... : D hahaha....
Should have ventilated 4 wheel discs with high performance cars.
And the boys with Turbo Honda's keep busting the car clutch plates as well. They should upgrade that component as well.
    @Levin,
Bro, few months back sold my uncles 17 inch rims with ES100 Yoko's,5000 km used in se saloon for ?.... 55000 rupees hahaha....Dont ask the loss ! ......
17inch is to much for an XE suspension!!!! Trust me....Kharak jai gi suspension jaldi
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    Spectra bud!
keeping pace with the rather comic remarks, it was just an attempt at humor, nothing to get all pissy about. My post wasn't a lash back at you, just a humorous admission of my favorite brands shortcomings. No offence was meant. My apologiez if i did so in any ways.

hash4u says:17inch is to much for an XE suspension!!!! Trust me....Kharak jai gi suspension jaldi

hash:. i know what i went through to swap and most difficult part is tune it. have a/c running..proper idle,,blabla, (i ran into minor problems that drove me nuts)

suspension is nothing, i get new 1 , i am thinking between 4afe 's and 2c suspension,, more recommendations are towards 4afe till now,, because what i do is first drive for a while , think, and budget it,., cause as is car is damm expensive to me right now, if i tell you how much this thing has cost me by now, you'll smile...lol

Firstly I'd like to say, excellent to see engine mods such as what you've just done Mr.Levin, may I suggest that you keep it at a sleeper profile, you'll love the look on peoples face when they least expect it and you put them to shame Secondly with reference to the Toyota brakes issue, this is probably a personal experience (not to say that any of you here are wrong at the same time), but I've never seen a Corolla have braking issues here in Australia (probably cause they're made here or something). So it's gotta be something to do with the build quality of the Toyotas there..again Excellent engine mods, and if you don't mind, rizrage@ gmail.com , send us some more pics =)
