ok here my mileage calc, lemme know if i got it right.
    started of with tank full.
    drove 84 km.
    refill tank RS. 380/- @62/litre.

so, it comes to like 13km/ litre? approx.

this is city driving only with a/c partially, rev speed 3500 rpm av.

i just saw comment, yes ofcourse in Pk its expensive. Infact very enpensive. I remember when diesel engine shooted up to 35~40k for 1-C and I went to my relative in Shoba, Peshawar who gave me one for 16k (cost price) for my frend from Lahore. So much huge margin on engines at that times, now I'm not sure how is it going.

Buying a 2nd hand engine here is as risky as gambling in Vegas. so many sellers of 2nd hand stuff can break an engine price and confuse the buyer, and buyer ends up with junk.( costing more to get it running, just like buying 2nd hand stereo from hall road, lhr.,,,

so how does my mileage calc posted above stands up with other 1.6l cars ...?.low i guess, lol

With 160,000 km milage, and city being Rawalpindi, yeah it has little touching.
But engine is perfecto. Yeah sorry about the pics.thats the best my D500 phone can do at night.Look at the driving paddles, still has the original Rubbers on them(shows how the car was kept).

yaar sorry to disturb but yaar why all said that braking is issue in corolla whereas i think corolla's has got nice braking system.....the old booster available in market are just awsome...i installed one in my starlet and it works awsome....so i think the tyres might be the problem not the brakes....all corolla's has got big booster's installed so no thing to said that brakes did'nt work quiet nicely.....My sunny has got same dia booster and its brakes are just awsome...so did'nt u think that corolla braking was not a big issue as it was made...plz comment...

    Based on my exepreince
Corollas's brakes are erratic rather then controllable.
It usualy jams the wheel early, paddle response is very quick which feels good at first but in an emergency stop u end up skidding because your reflexes always tell u to press hard.
A more gentler paddle response will make a better brake, rather then a small push on paddle and bang.

A gentler brake leave room for you to steer away from the obstacle rather then locking the wheels and hitting it.

I think that is why they invented ABS, "to retain control in tight braking situations"

IN Pakistan as ABS is not offered in all cars, at least they can make it as gentle as they can like other japanese manufacturers (Nissan or Mitsubishi).

Brake distribution valves are also a common fault in many corollas i have used. u never know where it will stick and with what intensity.

I have already invited a lot of trouble from FLi, its better for me to shut up now
Keep a cool head and wear seatbelts!

i think you were using narrow tyres,........ with 205/40/17 or 205 /45/16,, ...i felt diffirence in road grip between 16 and 17 rim even 205 is same figure there. but if you use 185 something tyres, which is not even close to 205 width, will give you diffirent result,,, you cannot expect same brake.
with 20v swap in a car , one needs to be careful engine doesnt shut off while braking,( a bad tuned engine cannot idle stable. then you almost have NO brake. i got new discs and drums this yr even so brakes aint that bad., i cannot say its awsome, but many toyota ppl have said older models brakes were better than newer. excluding ....abs factor., another point to note,, 20v is designed to run with 4 wheel disc., not disc/drum

I wanted to ask about the dials cluster thats installed in your car's dashboard. Is it from a normal EE Corolla or the AE101? Nice car btw. Wish I had the resources to experiment too. Keep it up and also keep us informed.

yes you can DHL parts or anything. But it is cheaper you come here yourself and buy the parts and take them with you. The ticket from karachi to dubai is only around 8000 rupees round trip on air blue.
