in any case GLI outclasses city..
    1. Fueling :
Both are 1.3L (1300cc) so makes no differece.

    2. Looks :
Gli is way more a "big" car compared to city.

    3. Price :
Gli is around a lack expensive than city.

Gli offcourse, I dont like that TOPA shape of City, Go for Civic instead EXI costs same as of GLI, OUT OF ALL 3 (corolla Gli, City IDSI, Civic Exi) No comparison of Civic Exi with the other 2 but still corolla comes 2nd and yes make Baleno the 3rd option as i dont like Citys TOPA shape.

    i says...
G.L.I ...............better than i-dsi....and civic exi was 1.5 so u can definately feel difference.....talking about 1.3L....GLi....was best...on CNG get it converted by Stanley House Lasbela or Friends CNG near Baloch......also Gli's engine 2NZ-FE was doing just fine on Xli radio cabs.....so no need to worry about

its good to know there are car experts around here who can solve car buyers doubts in a jiff........hate to say too all the die hard honda car lovers, City 2006 isnt in my book anymore unless somebody convinces me elsewise.

Read everyones view and i was just a bit curious on c123pk point as how Civic exi was better off than Gli.Did he mean interms of better mileage and power ON CNG eventhough its a 1.5l car(maybe the engine techonology is different)?..anyone knows the consumption of boht car?..... and is it True that honda cars(city ,civic)are having trouble with cng compared to toyota(gli)?

either way i would be spending extra of my hard earned Mooney to buy any car immediately... guys, again ur help would be appreciated..smile

this is in response to c123PK

1)Agreed that both are 1300CC, but the city features IDSI technology, which results in superb petrol average. a friend of mine on 14" rims has reported a milage of 550 KM's on full tank. (and has even showed me his odo-meter reading to proove it)

    2) GLI a bigger car....hmmm...im not too sure about that. im 6"2 and am very comfortable in the city, whether it be the drivers seat, passenger seat, or the back seat. whereas in the corolla the seats are very uncomfortable(just my opinion), less leg room in the front, and yeah my head always touches the roof while sitting in the back of a corolla. City has huge trunk space...does GLI have that?..it is admittable that the city has a small bonnet.

    3)Agreed.

As far as civic exi is concerned, i believe there is no trouble running it on CNG. whereas people have given mixed comments abt the new city running on CNG

    Akbar,

Couple of questions for you as you seem to own the city.

    a. Is this the 2005 model that you own?
    b. What mileage do you get?
    c. Is it true that a the Vario (auto trans) gives better mileage?
    d. Are you sure that City is not suited for CNG, both auto and manual.

If anyone else can answer my questions would really appreciate that!

    Thanks.

    @faysal

    1) yes i own a 2005 city M/T
    2) i Got 450KM on full tank (its cheaper to fill up a city than a baleno as i own both vehicles) when the car was 0 meter, lets just say i could have gotten better but i pushed it real hard .. i have upgraded to 15" rims, 195 tyres which has reduced my fuel average. my milage is currently 4700 KM's, my friend who got a city with myself, upon reaching 8000KM's his average has improved siginifactly.
C). I cant comment on that. But as per my friend who had both cars the M/T gave better average.(both vehicles on 14" 185 rims/tyres gave milage as follows: M/T= 550KM, A/T= 450KM)
d). Im not sure as to its CNG perfomance. My friend who's reference i had just given has a SE-SALOON on CNG, but didnt consider to convert city on CNG as it already gave him excellent milage, even on 14" rims.

im so impressed by the city that INSHALLAH ill be buying my mom a VARIO soon INSHALLAH if all goes well.

    Akbar,

Thanks a lot for your valued and prompt response. I am thinking of buying the VARIO and the only reason I am double minded is because if I want to convert it to CNG on a later stage I might have a problem. Want to buy an auto as I want to share this car with my wife...who does not know how to drive a manual.

    Thanks man.

you're welcome faysal. im in the same boat as you are right now.i want to buy my mom an auto cause its about time she got one, and my sis doesnt know how to buy a manual. when one is trying to buy an A/T vehicle here, his/her choices are very limited. Vitz is a good alternative, but its too small for my taste. and in corolla you can get japanese import for 10lacks, but that will not be brand new. as long as you stick to stock tyres, i believe you should be alright as far as fuel average is concerned. you should expect atleast 500KM's from a full tank. (my tank currently gets full in 2150rs). Best of luck with your car, and you cant go wrong with the VARIO.its CVT transmission simply rocks

    Akbar,

You are right about being on the same boat. A/T is good for the female drivers ... now I like A/T myself bec I am so used to it now...I am in Chicago where A/T are more popular, well all over the US.
Anyways, I think I am going to go ahead and get the A/T city, and later on install CNG if the need is there.
Where are you located. I am in Chicago but moving back to Pakistan early next year. I can always be contacted at faysal24@yahoo.com

Thanks Akbar for all your valuable input.

Im glad i was able to help you out. besides that, im sure you must be aware of the current OWN badmaashi going on here these days. forunately the OWN on the A/T is between 15,000rs -20,000rs, which i believe isnt that bad when compared to the amount you have to pay for a similar M/T vehicle or a different M/T car. Im currently in khi, but almost my mothers side entire family lives in the states. My mamoo lives in Wheaton, IL, and i just love that place...too bad it gets REALLY FREEZING at this time of the year. in the states most of the vehicles which i have seen are A/T, and i believe M/T vehicles have low-resale there, LOL !..im heading to the big apple end of jan, so lets see if you reach here early jan ill be able to guide you as to what dealer you should contact for lowest "own" and other stuff like that, as ill be going through the entire phase my self shortly, Inshallah
