members will be very reluctant to give such data, u have to tell me some journalist tactics to get data from them.

Its a very long project to get adta from all assemblers and dealers all over Pakistan, lets start anyway. Maybe we can contribute in changing mindsets of people.

On suggestion to this is to go to a big workshop and have the averge no of accidented car..

I had a chance to go to autoclub in isb and saw all of toyota XLI hit from front and all of honda from back . when i asked the mechenic he told me the reason was breaks.. toyota can not be stoped so hit from front and honda has good breaks but the follower doen't have good breaks so end result hit from back.... i belive this give smore wait to the breaking problem issue...

    cheers..

almost all workshops tell u same stories and they have a lot of corollas accidented but we should find total sales of corolla at a particular point of time say tell December 31, 2005 and then we should find the accident ration by collectiog data from all sources. this way we can have percentages e.g. 30 out of 100 corollas have major accidents etc.

probability of corolla having an accident is more because there are more of them on road compared to others, that factor can also be incorporated

corolla lose control when ever u try to brake hard, thats why it gets hit from the front.

Well one thing if Xli is so prone to accidents, why insurance firms are not charging a higher premuim on it. I think the best beneficiary of the proposed research project would be the insurance companies, who based on accident data can revise their premium on different models.

As long as no one gets hurt, my insurance company should be worried about front or rear accidents.

i would like to invite all the xli owners on this forum and plese tell if they have accident related with the brakes of corolla.its hard for me to believe that so many corollas on roads are running without proper brakes,,if the brakes are that bad then every corolla is supposed to be hit on the first drive from show room to the home.....in my openion brakes of corrola are bad only if they are compared with civic.

Well I am driving XLi for about one year, never had a single touch by the Grace of Allah, may Allah keep all friends at Pakwheels safe. Ameen. Several friends, relatives, neighbours have Xli since 2002 but no accidents so far.

It would be hard to imagine there are no after-market solutions to the braking problem....Anyone resolved the braking problem yet? (forget dealer, on your own is what I mean)

its amazing to see so many different openions on braking ability of xli or toyota.i think with little effort on tyres the problem(if any ) can be solved.
