May there was a lot manufactured who had some ill quality drum show or leather we call. I think the desighn of corolla is totally japanese.its only assebled here. So break problem can only be because of bad tires or bad quality disk pads and drum shoe. corollas with ABS and 4 wheel disk are very good at breaks. its a myth, nothing more. i have driven many corollas but i did not face any problem in their brakes. if it was true then we would find many corollas acceidented.

There was this topic about corolla brakes and the concerned person was asking about rear brakes of corolla. That if they are altered will the problem be solved or not ????

Here is my experience with my VTI 98(4 wheel disc brakes).the rear disc pads of my car got worn out.The shopkeeper showed me pads ranging from 400 rupees to 1800 rupees.
I picked up the second best for rup 1000 thinking rear discs are not as important as the front ones.
i felt the brakes were not good as they used to be. With passage of time my Yoko A539's tyres ran 20,000 km's and my car started to skid when brakes applied slightly hard. I was confused whether to change the tyres, have they become hard and lost the grip?????
I had in mind, my cars rear disc pads were not that good as before. So i took the risk of buying the 1800 rupee set and putting it in my car.And the car no longer skids on hard braking!!!!! problem solved dont have to change the tyres

Just wanted to share the importance of rear brakes : )

    hello!
due to more ground clearance and general tyres...there might be some problems comes wile braking....but changing tyres can solve your problem.....Corolla AE-100 did'nt have any such problems bcz its ground clearance is less than the new Corolla...so here also comes difference...as car was well equipped with powerful Brake Booster...so i don't think it sucks...just Honda Freaks make this stupid myth.....no such accidents i see...as we drive 7 days a week on Main Shahra-e-Faisal and did'nt see much things like mentioned....skidding,no brakes etc etc

i have seen that corolla has a very Hard suspension and the shockabsorbers to and fro motion is not naked to eye...when you press the brakes the dampers infact transfers the load and momentum of the vehicle to the Tires and they grip the road.....what happens if the shocks eat all the load ....the tires dont find grip and start skiding on road....please keep in mind that the new corolla is not as heavy as its looks depict it to be...its a damn light car

It is not a myth that corollas have a brake issue its a Fact.
secondally you have to believe me that some toyota models dont have the same problem e.g SE SALOON has more body weight and its braking is better than a Xli,Gli.

try putting tires with a very soft tread such as Michelin, Sumitomo, Dunlop Fm901 series etc and see for urself how improved the braking becomes.

people say that Mehran performs better and its road grip increases if more people are put in....why is that...coz the load inturn increases the momentum and the tires have a lot of pressure on em when Brakin and they stick to the ground....

i thnk thats the issue....replace the corolla shocks with softer ones and see the difference.

    thnx all
