    Default Cultus ,Xli, Brake Analogy.

well,i know there have been a lot of discussion on this forum about the brakes of Xli,,,but frankly i have little idea as of now that how the brakes of Xli actually performs,,,,as i owned and drived a cultus 2000 model for about 4 years,,i know about its braking very well,, I Would like u to tell me that if the brakes of Xli are as good as the one in cultus,,if they are then i think there is no problem with them,,but if they are not as good as cultus then,,,hmmmm,,Houston we have a problem !!!!!!!

i have driven both and i think that brakes of gli are better than cultus...
though many will not accept it...

the pedal of gli dont give u proper feel of the brakes... and then u listen the tyre locked...
but its a mtter of practice....

if u mean braking distance, then it involves many factors, and it's difficult to compare cultus with xli, both have diff. COG and weight shifting (lateral forces) while braking, and then all imp. momentum (cultus is way too lighter than xli).
BUT it's easier to survive an accident in xli than cultus, whether its from front or rear or side-ways, and if by any chance u succeed to topple it over then corolla's roof is also strong. tie urself up with seat belts while driving, thumbs up to corolla. wish u a safe journey.

@Nashit I have a moderate driving style and have observed that the new rolla skids when you press the brake pedal hard and suddenly, however, the car stops as required when you apply the pressure gently, no skidding. Just try that....but not in traffic.

I have also kept a cultus (2002) before and it was on CNG so the pick up was slow and the brakes were no problem, they always worked fine. Now the corolla (2.0D 2003) had very poor brakes and you can feel the car go forward while pressing the brake, so get tires with good grip and keep you wheels balanced and aligned. This helped me so I hope it helps you as well. And yes, you don't have to over speed.

cultus brakes are quite ok considering the pick of the car, i was satisfied with it saved me once or twice n i drive quite rash at times, just use original disc pads always, my original disk pads were gone after 20,000 km and tires after 30000km. xli has 2 issues brakes are kind of so so (they lock the tires n stuff mostly) but handling is poor plus it is raised unusually so when the crunch time comes it really requires a lot of skill to keep it in control. i have an altis now brakes are nice but handles quite poorly when compared to a civic. so if u like to take sharp turns or turn a bit quickly don’t go for an xli, normal drivers key leyey ok hai, but when in trouble say ur prayers first then brake. U won’t be able to hear frm Houston afterwards
