    Default Today I Drove a "thing" people call it "Cultus"

    Well I never drove a Cultus before, all time I used to Drive Corolla 88, Land Cruiser and Mitsubishi Intercooler. Today I took a test drive of old Cultus 2001 VXL model. The engine doesn't seems to be powerful I needed to drag it on First Gear after stopping (Usually I drag on 2nd gear of my Corolla 88) Second most strange thing was its "breaks" its breaks were absolutely not effective at all, I was about to hit front car, thanks GOD I decided to apply breaks from little more distance otherwise it could have hit the front car. The car owner said "Cultus ki breaks toh aise hi hoti hian" {Weird}

    Secondly, the road grip was pathetic... the car seem to be floating on the road as ship Frankly speaking I didn't drive more faster, just because of though that "what if I have to apply break suddenly - this car won't stop"

    My Corolla 88 (1994 Quota) is much much much much much much better then this... it really has Great Grip and Awsome breaks, even on 80Km/h I always have mental satisfaction that if I have to apply breaks suddenly then car WILL STOP within seconds.

    I have request to Suzuki Culuts Owners to please guide me if this is wrong and the car I drove was defective OR PakSuzuki is fooling people by selling these "things" called "cars"

    Comparing Cultus with Corolla, Land Cruiser and Mitsu intercooler?
    Does not makes any sense.
    I agree that Cultus lacks braking and roadgrip but still its not that much bad.
    Maybe the car you drove was roughly used.
    One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

    I know it doesn't make sense... it seems to compare Donkey with Horse. But Price tag for Cultus is too much... well the one I drove was 2001 and owner was asking like 420K whereas in 450K I can get very good condition Corolla 88 (CNG/Petrol). That's too if you see Cultus 2003/2004 then it would cost you 500K but still you can get corolla 88 for 450K (CNG/Petrol) which is 10000 times better then Cultus.

    So the price tag allow to make comparison. I think new cultus cost you about 900K, in this price tag if you try then you can get 3 door intercooler.

    I have been looking for cultus, but after today's drive I'm thinking that...Why should one waste money on this crap?

    Well you should compare cars according to their performance not their tags. Same can be said about city, i you want to buy 1.2~1.3 million Rs city then why not W124? It is an upper class car. You are comparing two different classes.

    The car owner said "Cultus ki breaks toh aise hi hoti hian" {Weird}
    Lol shukar manao the owner acepted it, if u bot it brand new and went for a checkupo Suzuki people would say you dont noe how to apply brakes.

    My Baleno gear box was faulty, after driving for 10-15kms the first gear wud jst come back. On a singnal the car wud become a pain (imagine a brand new car driven less then 170kms)

    Suzuki people said ap ko gear lagana nae ata !!! WT*
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    the probability of finding a trouble-free 22 year old corolla will be very rare.

    i have said this earlier, even with that euro II efi engine a Cultus should not exceed 550k at max. the price is artificial for sure. but then every other car is overpriced, you cannot justify a 1.3m price tag for an xli, can you?

    @UsmanAnsari: yeah 1.3M for XLI is also not justifiable, its too much. But afte speding 1.3M on a car like XLI you may think that atleast I have got something. But in case of cultus with such braking and road grip you are putting you life in danger even after spending 900K :|

    God Forbidden, God Forbidden, God Forbidden if someone has to control the car in emergency situation then I don't think Cultus will work with these specs.

    cultus is 100 time better then any 86-88 model corolla in every angle

    those 88's car are more then two decades old,so now a days it is very hard to find any 100% original car,so their reliability is not more then any cultus.

    And point of braking issue the old 88 corolla does not have any ABS too.
    the 2002-2010 model corolla have really bad brakes so any intelligent person can think that what will be situation in 80's model car ,when the technology was not advance.

    i also accept that cultus is model from 80's or 90's and have rli old technology but it is still in production so it is more reliable then any two decade old car.

    @ poster
    sometime it happens when you drive any car for ist time you need some time to adjust with car.
    so its better to drive different cars time by time so u become expert driver not for only one particular car but whole classes of cars

    no offence to any one but i have my own opinion and experience.
