    Question Engine swaping in Cultus

Dear last year the head gasket of my car had damaged after 110000kms. once i replaced gasket without facing but it run only 2 months jan an feb 2010. I also have the issue of A\C on it. Not powerful in hot summer. Mechanic gave advised to me swap your engine with 1300cc used efi Japanese engine. After visit to Kabaar Market behind the Sadar Rwp. They gave us price
1300cc Efi Engine with full accessories=50000rs+old Cultus Engine===>with 2 month Engine and Gearbox replacement Guarantee.
1600cc Efi Engine with full accessories=40000rs+old Cultus Engine===>with 2 month Engine and Gearbox replacement Guarantee.

Mechanic also assure me there will be no major alteration. Becasue these Engines are Baleno`s.
But after consulting to the other Mechanic they told me dont do that otherwise the market value of your car will be totally out.
Later i renewed old engine which is now runing very well.
Now i want to ask you 1300cc or 1600cc engine breakup Cultus Market Value If no major Alteration are made in it????

The second mechanic advised you corretly . No doubt , the market value of your cultus will decrease. I advise you to change your old engine with the cultus engines of same specifications as the old one.

If your car is a daily runner,Go for 1300cc.It will provide power and economy.1600cc would be a little on the Over side.It will surely decrease your car's value.

a simple job is to put in a 1300 carby engine and keep the 1.0 3 cyl well oiled and boxed for the resale value thing, drive it around on 1300cc and when you want to sell the car just put the 1.0 back - I doubt that a proper buyer will complain on a proper suzuki swap

Just like Xulfiqar bhai said. Keep the old engine. Your resale wont be damaged then.

There are people who will gladly pay more for the bigger engine too.

Swap a 1.3 Carby. Would cost less. The swap labour cost of an EFi engine goes easily to 20k with all the wiring. Also you need to make sure that price your given includes ECU + all sensors + wiring. There is usually one or two missing all the time. Kabar market walay ... pfft.

Something finaly has changed, now the car sells on its condition models 1 or 2 year +- doesnt matters much these days.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.
