    Default CNG Mileage Cultus

    Hi Guys..

I may be re-starting an old debate but trust me i searched the whole forum but didnt found any matching threads to my query...

to simply put it this way...i hav a cultus vxr 05..the car was on originally on petrol(no f/f cng)....

Today i met a guy who had a 2006 cultus with f/f cng...he asked me the mileage of my car on cng... i told him around 135 kms with a/c on (btw the a/c is always on in my car as i never drive with my windows down)...n he said that is because u dont hav a f/f cng as a f/f cng car like his 2006 gives around 190 kms in city traffic without a/c n 175 with a/c....

now my query stands as this...IF there is really that much mileage difference in f/f cng and non-f/f cng...why is that so?? do PS use any electronic device or any gadget???

(i hav an original landi renzo kit bought directly from company with ekc 50 kg cylinder)......

Whenever a bird shits on my car, I eat a plate of scrambled eggs on my front porch just to let them know what I'm capable of...

I have VXRi 2008. With Ac i am doing 190 km on long and 160 km in city. Its a ff cng kit. But also note that the cultus starts on petrol and after 90 seconds it converts to cng automatically. So in 90 seconds u may have traveled couple of kilometers.

and i repeat cities other than karachi , if people claim they will do more than 150 kms i will believe that but here karachi things are different we hardly get 200 psi pressure here :s

cng pressure only makes sure tht the tank gets full..mean if at 200 bars ,u might get 8 kgs of gas in 55 L cylinder n at 15-16 might b around 6 kgs..now mileage is related to per lietr of petrol or per kg of gas,,not how much it takes to fill up the cylinder!

pindi gas is always around 200 of pressur but ive been to cng stations where pressure was 150-160..only prob with low pressure is the amount of gas tht enters in cylinder will b less, mileage shudnt b affected...

cracked bruv if u read the reading of the scale that placed under your bonnet just after u full your tank here in karachi it will give u a reading of 180 psi in full cylinder , take my example my cylinder is 55l and it should be 8 and half kg space in it , but i never able to fill more than 8.20 kg in it , so if i fill my cng tank early morning or late night when pressure is 220 or 210 psi bar my reading show more 200 psi and than i get the maximum milleage which is 120 to 130 km city driving .

I own a cultus 05 model VXR. i usually do the same that ie on every refill set the milage zero find out consumption etc etc.
in city w/o A.C it gives me 140.
Yesterday i travelled from LHr to Isl & Back. average was gr8.
checked with both AC & w/o AC.
on long route AC gives around 180 with 55KG cylinder easily.
I got CNG filled from kharian yesteday pressure was owesome.
they charged me 502 for tank full which was empty & infact without AC i got more than 200km.

Rs 502!!!....pressure must be more than 220psi.... then obviously u should expect something in btwn 150-170 with this good pressure...

coz my tank fills up at rs406 to rs430 ..i get 120to 130km...

I owned a 2005 cultus a while back and its mileage was:

    Local: W/O AC (210-240)
    Local: W AC( 150-180)
    Long: W/O AC (190-230)
    Long: W AC (170-210)

    oh comon ...

    @rom & cracked

as per BOTH of ur assumption gas will fill 8.00kg no matter what the psi is then why are we paying more to fill a tank ..

Density = Mass / Volume .... ring any bells.... dont bring in Boyle & charles law ...

now this is only how gas is stored ... now how it is consumed is a different story
IF IT'S GOT BO0BS OR WHEELS IT WILL GIVE YOU PROBLEMS!!!!!!!

By the way it was non FF CNG and my personal idea is that if you know a better CNG Installer go for it rather then FF.FF no doubt gives you satisfaction about Installation but mileage and performance of a FF CNG is not great.
