Default Brake pads for Cultus VXRi

My Cultus VXRi 2008 have 20,000 on odometer. The problem is when I apply brakes squeaky noise comes from it. I had it cleaned but the Suzuki dealer guy says that Brake pads need to be changed. Now the pads with Suzuki Dealer are for Rs 5,200 (which they claim to be original) while in Market they are Rs 600(Chinese). The question is, for which pads should I go for.

Who knows that the "original" pads as claimed by Suzuki Dealer are not Made in China!!! Rs. 5,200/- is very high tag for such a small and simple thing.

The dealers are always rip offs no matter what the company or brand is. At the same time I would not suggest you to go for cheap chinese stuff. Locate a vendor in the open market who sells original stuff. Buy something which suits your budget as well as is known to be a good, if not excellent performer as well. You would see that the same item which the dealer quotes for 5200, must be cheaper with a reliable open market source.

I have 2008 VXRi, when ever i change brake pads i go far 3s Dealer genuine pads. I have tried Chinese 600Rs and taiwani 2100Rs. but the optimal results are with dealers brake pads. Personal experience is that braking is quite better than desi.

Cultus brake pads are expensive like hell. At around 5000, they are more expensive than brake pads for civic and altis. I was also in the same dilemma and opted for Rs. 600 brake pads. They are working fine at the moment. Also asked around, and even the mechanics at Suzuki dealerships say that no one opts for these genuine Rs. 5000 brake pads except for a couple of cars. Infact all suzuki parts are expensive and ALL suzuki dealerships allow customer to purchase Japanese parts from market and get them fit from them while only charging labor cost. They also advise which shops to purchase stuff from and which brand/quality to go for

Opt for Asuki or Sumitomo brake pads. U'll be fine. I am using these on my Alto, they perfect. New ones from Suzuki were for 5400.
