if the gasket were leaking - the idle speed would be incredibly lumpy and shaky too.

    Dear All,
During last week, after facing this issue since last 2-3 months, I went to Universal Auto, Ichra Lahore, person Mr. Ijaz told me that service of Carb. is required, he also told me that Head will need to be checked. He opened the Tappet, and told me that Head need services.

He serviced the carb, change the wenchery, Head overhaul, and it cost me 16000/- Rs.

Now after, 4 days, I am in same condition. On petrol, when releasing the accelerator, car goes down.

I am in real trouble, even spending more then 22000/ Rs. problem is still there. I will appreciate, If anyone can guide me, because at this moment, carb. is service, distributor air pump change, Head overhauled, what left?

    Need your advice....

    Regards
    Ahmad

All these problems are ignored besides having bad quality, just because of its 'Resale'.

I hope Insha-Allah you'll find a fix for your car, i feel very sorry for you.

Sorry to hear that problem is still there.

    1. The first thing I will tell you to check is ALL vacuum pipes, small and large! Check them all for cracks etc especially where they join onto the vacuum ports. Even a small crack will cause a big leak which will upset the mixture esp. after a long rev. Used to happen with my old engine. If your car has a CNG regulator with a vacuum pipe attached to it then check that also. They tend to tear up very often if the wrong size pipe is forced onto the vacuum ports. Inspect ALL vacuum ports on the front and back of the carburetor itself. Sometimes a few of them are blocked off by factory but mechanics intentionally/ absentmindedly remove the plastic caps on the ports resulting in vacuum bleed.

    2. Just to make sure, please check the distributor's vacuum port again. if you can remove the cap and see with your own eyes if applying suction to the vacuum port moves anything inside, and when vacuum is released does it get stuck anywhere? Double check with your own eyes.

    3. Also, the dashpot that zulfiqar bro has mentioned. Mark/ note or draw the current position of the two two vacuum pipes going to it, then try switching them around and see if it makes a difference.

bro I dont know much about cultus, but same problem was in my corolla 94. I spent about 12k to solve this problem whereas the solution simply cost me 20 rupees. There was a vacuum pipe leakage and after replacing it, i am enjoying my car's ride. Dont trust any mechanic, just check all pipes yourself. It will cost you not more than 15 minutes to check all the vacuum pipes. I live near Mazang, you can visit me too.

I hv a similar problem with my 2004 Cultus. RPM is not stable on petrol where as its perfect on CNG.

Whenever i switch to petrol, RPM goes down to zero. Also, there is petrol smell in cabin of car even if car is on CNG. I checked under the car and there is no leakage there. Recently, i just got my fuel pump changed, i think thats the problem! :/

Ahmad bro do update us abt the fix once you are done.

I checked the leakage of pipes attached with carb, but didn't find any leakage.

Secondly, Around 5-6 months back, I changed the fuel pump with "Kabli" one from Bilal Gunj.

I will further do the analysis, and will update all members. Stay praying for me...

when replacing the vacuum pipes make sure that you use proper ones - not the cheap and useless quality pipes you get at parts stores.

if the pipes are perished replace them, if they are leaking replace as necessary. A good workaround is PU or plastic pipe with rubber connectors on the ends.

went over to Suzuki mini motors yesterday. I spent the whole day there, carb service, butterfly repair but still there is prob :/

On a positive note, petrol smell is not coming now. Car is not rapidly switching off on petrol, however RPM is still unstable. On cng RPM is perfectly fine. car is not switching off on cng

The solution the Ustaad came up with is that he said that the gene("gasket" in english?) that he used was not a good quality one and that the size was not perfectly fine. Yup that was true that the holes were not perfectly fitting in but still holes were not completely covered. I think 1/4th of hole was covered.

Finally he said that he will arrange a better quality gene on monday and that i should go over to him on Monday. Firstly i couldn't agree to him that only a small covering of hole could lead to rapid switch off on car after like 10 seconds of start up but then having no knowledge on this aspect i said ok we can check on monday. Guys please help me before monday.
I asked him to check for leakages in vacuum pipe but he said that if there was any leakage than the leak would sound a "shhh" sound that could easily be heard.
