Default Pakistani assembled car's comparison with their first model for e.g.Cultus '01 vs '11

Now before you go further, let me elaborate on the topic title.

I bought my cultus just a week ago, its a 2004 model and while going somewhere with a friend of mine who bought and sold a 2006-7 model, as I asked him to open the dashboard and get me my cigarette packet out. He was surprised to see "A EFFING LOCK ON THE DASHBOARD DOOR", said,"mine didn't have a lock on this cupboard's door".

I was like wait what. They cost. cutting? yeh kia sasti harkatay hayn Pak Suzuki ki?

So lets find a way to compare and see what has been shredded off the newer models and make our old cars appreciate in value as we show the newer cars that ours have more options than yours smart-a$$$$$.

    Nothing to see here.

@Poster this is an example of a Suzuki lets have a look at the status symbol Honda. In late 90's Atlas Honda published an add in print media highlighting their "Safety First" slogan i.e. High mount inner stop lamp in their every model even in base ones (City) Now in 5th gen City High mount stop lamp was offered in 2011 after 02 years of launch boot inner light, chromed exhaust muffler rear seat arm rest and stop lamp which were there in all 04th gen City and these were offered as a very big achievement.Civic VTi upon launch (1996) used to came with Dunlop tires and the cost of car was less than 900k now after 15 years at the price of 2 million plus we are getting euro stars.

^lol. Yeh hahaha. Tight find Istafa.

Edit: Very important to note over here is that these ducts are very very expensive. For cultus, these a/c vents cost as a friend of mine told me, 2500-3000 PKR each. Only the grille/vents.

Istaffa - Compare the dashboard of both Mehrans too. Newer one has a damn hard cheap plastic.

That high price is only subjected to after-sales markets such as Plaza, etc. They know that this is rarely bought product and supply is also low hence these dukaandaars try to gain mazimum profit in one time by claiming supply is low which is not.

I am sure NaPak Suzuki gets real cheap from its vendors.

I inquired about the prices of these vents last year and it was 4k per piece for Khyber.(The side vents)

Talking about Cultus, the build quality of the early models was much better than the current ones.
The models uptill 2005 had a lock for the glove box compartment after that there was no lock.

The Khybers that came before 1995~96 used to have pair of speakers in the dashboard plus a pair of side mirrors and horns.
The 1996 onwards models didnt have left side mirror, a single horn and no speakers in the dash.

Hmmm... That could be the case. But Suzuki's Vents are more likely to break. 7 out of 10 Mehrans that I have seen had broken vents.

Which left side mirror you are talking about?
I have 2000 model Khyber and it got both left and right side mirrors.

I'm not sure but the AC unit in newer altos have been changed from a Denso to a Sanden unit to apparently save on costs. It's true that the newer one is not even close to the performance of the earlier units as experienced by myself. Maybe someone who owns an Alto can share some light too.

My dad bought a brand spanking new Khyber in 1994 and it did not have the left side mirror. You're right about the speakers though. That car came with speakers in the rear parcel shelf. I can say this because my Khaalu had bought one in 1992 and we used to compare our cars. Earlier ones had the front headrest as a separate unit while ours didn't.

    Hmmm...
The only reason that comes to my mind is that its been almost 12 years since the last Khyber was produced...
New parts of good quality are not easily available.
So those who have these OEM parts charge whatever rates they want.

    Yes you are right.
My Khaloo used to have a 92~93 model (Dont remember the year exactly) and it used to have front seats with seperate headrest that was hollow from inside.
    Later those seats were changed.

Isn't it illegal to drive a car without side mirrors?
Suzuki offered a brand new car without a side mirror.....this is really insane.
What about Mehran nowadays? Are they coming with both side mirrors?

Apart from removing useful items from the cars, there are some which should have been removed by now. For example, the key-locking/unlocking mechanism of Mehran's fuel tank. It was there on the 89 model, it is still there on the 2011 model. It should be replaced by a lever mechanism. Same goes for the trunk's lock. Even Alto VXR doesn't have a lever mechanism for its trunk. Santro have it. It even have the trunk light.

Now comes the defogger. It was present in Suzuki FX. It isn't in Mehran and even Alto. How much are they charging for these bloody cars?

Then, just look at the lighter in an Alto. Looks like they forgot to put it first and then added it at the last moment. It is literally hanging separately under the center control.

And in this 2011 Suzuki Alto, look at the places marked under the center vents which you can cut and put what? Unees so daedh ka radvaa with one tuning knob to be placed on the left and volume on the right. Bhai, cassette player nahi day rahay to jagah to sahi se do na... And there isn't any vent on the right as well. Ufff khudaya... And they have a VXR variant which has A/C in it?
