    Exclamation Cultus engine and body overhaul and rebuild

    helo friends , i am updating this thread as now its all complete , just want to show here what you can see in this thread as its a huge list so i am simly writing whats not in this thread ,,,,,,, , you can see every thing related to cultus except engine overhaulling , fuel tank/pump and some wiring related stuff , rest all you can get here ,

    After market ones are good, 2000rs pair. Make sure to use the appropriate grease for ball joints.

    As advised by experts i am attaching the pics of Radiator cap and neck...

    Please remember :

    1- My car never heated
    2- needle stays at 50% always
    3- coolant moves to reservoir bottle when pressing upper rubber hose even when engine is COLD..
    4- Fan is auto
    5- Thermostat is missing.

    if you are experiencing coolant moving from radiator to bottle by squeezing pipes with engine dead cold the inner ring of the radiator cap neck is not sealing to the radiator cap smaller rubber seal. Check to see if there is corrosion or distortion there on the neck. One picture looks like a small piece is missing there. The coolant should only move to the expansion tank when the system pressure lifts the big spring.

    One more thing to notice..

    when you place the radiator cap on the neck without turning to close it you should be able to press it down with your hand slightly, This test is to determine your cap actually is making contact with the lower ring.

    Also make sure the vacuum hat is also sealing itself and nothing is jammed in it (I have seen some mechanics wrap a wire in it claiming ' iss se presshar nahin banay ga)

    Thanks dear, Yes I am experiencing exactly same issue. Missing piece on cap or neck? Yes coolant shouldn't move until pressure reaches specific level.

    Man!!! why didn't I thought of checking if cap can be pressed a little by hand when placed on neck without tightening... I will check it today IA.

    Some more pics are attached. sorry for bad quality as I take them in night due to reaching home late. I hope I do not end up replacing radiator but only cap (fingers crossed)

    both large spring and vacuum seal can move by hand.

    Both are actually dents. Also checked the cap by pressing when its not tightened and just sitting on the neck. there is very small extent of press like 2mm and also the there is a gap of 2-3mm between the seal harness (don't know what its called. will try to identify in pic.) due to which it is little loose. This could also make difference i think.. I will replace the cap tomorrow so please suggest how to check if new cap is original.

    I also checked again by pressing upper hose when engine was dead cold and can hear coolant gushing sound and its movement back and forth from reservoir bottle like there is no seal in cap and it moves freely


    However if issue is of the small bit you pointed out in picture, what are the options of fixing it?? or radiator needs replacement? :

    first install a new cap and then retest if coolant moves, SNA brand made in Pakistan radiator caps were perfect to use when I was living in pakistan.

    Here it says that seal should be smaller than metal plunger. I think mine is same in condition.

    that nissan technical article is not very critical here, that only happens in extreme problems - which you dont have currently, your problem is that your cap is not able to hold any pressure.

    Finally changed radiator cap :-) . as car is mostly parked and used for small distances so was changed it late. Problem now is vanished as by pressing pipe I see no coolant flow and no gushing sound.
    Cap is of fatuba Japan and good thing is that it has pressure release button in case car gets heated or one needs to open radiator when engine is hot. Looks great!

    Hello all, I have 2008 efi cultus.. it's engine was perfect. But now it's engine makes much noise, this noise problem started when few months back lahore was under water due too a lot of rain.. after that 1: it started missing cuz water was reached in its plugs(resolved now by changing seals plugs etc)...2:its idle control valve is also affected as it's RPM never stay stable when car is started in morning and RPM reaches to 3000... it's fuel pump also got weak(changing it now)...

    But the main issue is of noise it's making high air like(ssssshhhhhiiiiii) sounds. NOTE: I have checked air pipes etc they are all okay.. sounds are coming from belt area.. kindly help me out in it!
