    Default Suzuki Cultus 2011 VXRi - Start Problem

    Hi, This is Rehman newly registered to this forum to find out solution about the subject. I would like to eleborate my problem as: -

    I have Cultus 2011 VXRi, Model since last August and regularly tune it up after every 5000 KM including Engine Oil / Filter, Air Filter even Plugs also. Its current milage is 23500KM. For the last 1 month I am facing a problem during its start, Oil Tank is full, CNG tank is also full battery is fine, ignition is also passing, when I make self to start it, engine not become start even after so many selfs. I used to push the vehile and then it becomes start. I face this problem often when my vehicle stops for 5 to 6 hours at a place.

    Can anybody let me tell that what can be the reason? After last tuning (at 20K-KM) it was perfecting working fine but since last 1 month it is facing problem

    need timing adjustment advance the timing a bit

    Hi Asad,

    Thanks for the updates, I will make an examination today (insha allah) but my question is, if there is timing adjustment involved then vehicle should create problem every time. But it become start normally almost 80% of the time and problem occurs in 20%. Do you still feel that timing adjustment can solve the problem?

    @muj does it happen only petrol or cng or both and is the engine check light on?

    Take out rear seat and check fuel pump wiring harness for short circuit or burn out,because of this fuel pump stop working for a while. It is an intermittent problem.and I found this problem in most of the cultus specially in 2011 model.

    Firstly u mentioned "vxri" so it is efi and should not having any timing adjustment (unless u use obd and tune up system)
    second .. if the problem is on cng and petro both, then it is related to current

    check your coils(s) ... other symptoms may include slight missing specially when engine is cold and at low RPMs

    Dear Mikmech - as car is 2011 model so it automatically converted into petrol at every ignition off and when we again try to start it starts from petrol only, Option for Start from CNG is not available so I met this problem on Petrol only and could not check on CNG.

    this is VXRi company fitted CNG Major's fault.... My friend's is also facing it, he has verified it through SUZUKI 3S several times but no remedy for this issue. A little push is required after a long parking.

    Thanks for the reply. But brother fuel pump should not keep working if there is short circuit and my claim is why it starts after a little push. If it starts it means then its fuel pump is working well. I am still blind to seek answer. I checked it through 3S / 5S showrooms but they are also unable to answer at a pin point. Anyhow suffering with litter push after 6 to 8 hours parking...

    However I don't disagree with your opinion, wiring may be loose which works some time and some time not!!!

    Default Random Starting Problem 2010 Cultus

    Hello All,

    I have a 2010 Cultus Petrol with just 14000 Km on it. Since past year, the car has a strange starting problem which only occurs randomly once every 1-2 week. Basically, after long parking (like in the morning at home or when i leave from office in evening), the car keeps taking self but doesn't start. When I take out the cable going from coil to distributor and test for current, there is no spark. After waiting 5-10 minutes for spark without success, I put cable back into distributor, it starts suddenly and runs like a charm for the next few days (takes half a self to start).

    People have suggested replacing the cable or the Coil itself but am not sure. Would appreciate help in this regard.

    Same problem had to tow the car to the mechanic today, Here's the deal it's basically a camshaft position sensor issue according to ECU code. Now one dealer told me 2009 cultus efi does not have this sensor and in fact this is a generator sensor located within the distributor. Brand new costs from 3,800 to 8k at different suzuki dealers, we're acquiring one from magzine line or shershah. The euro 2 cultus has some ignition coil system which is not like the old efi's distributor system. Mechanic has told me this problem occurred with other Cultus too. First we thought it was fuel pump issue but fuel pump is fine, car is not on CNG and the engine will just not start with this kind of faulty sensor no matter what you do. Anyways you guys are lucky your sensors did not give up to a great extent mine did after 2-3 weeks of problems.

    One of the reason is in Cultus 2011, point in distributor has some carbon, just open the two screw of distributor and take out the point (be remember its position) and clean it slightly with some hard item, then try again to start.

    It work for my car so many times same Cultus 2011 on petrol I have already checked every thing else which was fine.

    i resolved similar issue on friends VXRI 08 model
    issue was ith cng kits fuse it is hanging near battery it used to do the same
    Hanjiii Kaa Storeey Eehh !

    Dear All,

    I have similar issue with my cultus Efi 2008 it have random starting issue and when i check there is no current in coil output wire which goes into distributor. After several self it starts like charm and then there is no issue. The problem is when i take the car to mechanic and electrician i cant demonstrate the issue.

    I also own a cultus 2007 VXRi
    I faced the same problem,
    Unfortunately Suzuki authorised and all other mechanics failed to solve that issue
    Finally changing the spark plug cables resolved my issue
    But still she betrays me once in a blue moon
    PS. I have another solution
