Default Clutch and pressure plates on Cultus

Gave my car for regular tune up today and an just being told by my mechanic that my clutch n pressure plates are 90% done n need immediate replacement.
My car is a cultus 05 with 90564 kms on the dial. The engine and transmission or suspension has never been worked before MA.

My question is what r the signs for detection of the clutch/pressure plate problem?

My car runs fine with a/c on. Can go up bridges with 4 persons on board. A bit sluggish but it goes through. On straight roads it reaches aprox 110kmph at 2800-3000rpm in fifth gear...

Is mechaic rite? Or just bluffing to make a good buck.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using PakWheels Forums mobile app

Whenever a bird shits on my car, I eat a plate of scrambled eggs on my front porch just to let them know what I'm capable of...

    an easy check is,
with a blown clutch the car wont screech(launch hard in first gear)....if the car moves without wheel spin/screech, clutch is weak
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Clutch pedal gets hard and also clutch release height increases(Means gear can be shifted by pressing clutch pedal half the way).
Never loose hope in life, every step gives u something.
