Unhappy Suzuki Cultus 2007 EFI starts jerking when idle (i.e on red light)

    Dear All,

Recently my cultus has developed a serious problem. The car starts jerking when it is stationary and the rpm drops to zero. I have to accelerate it otherwise it will stop.

I took my car to computerized gas tuning center. They enhanced its rpm but after a while it again starts the same behaviour. I took it to Electrician. He examined it as told me that it is OK. No problem with wires etc.

He referred me to a mechanic. He told that in take(installed on upper part of engine with that black pipe coming from air filter) need to be opened for any leakage. But I did not allow him as there was no guaranttee that this problem will be resolved.

Hint: My car radiator fan was direct. When I made it automatic, it started this behaviour. At first it remains OK but after a while it creates problem and you need to put one of your foot on accelerator every time when it is idle. The same behaviour was observed even when I shifted it to petrol.

Kindly suggest me what should I do.

I serviced the throttle body. The actuator ( I think) was cleaned with petrol.
Now the car is n good shape. But still same problem exactly at the time when the radiator fan gets start. It is fine otherwise.

    Thanks

Get your thermostat valve back on and get your fan on auto again preferably from a 3s dealer then think about the problem.

My car is already on auto fan now. The problem arises only when the fan starts. Then it gets OK after a while.
    thanks

check for vacuum leaks.....if the engine vcuum is leaking from somewhere it will effect the idling of your car. Vacuum is created only when the car is idling........ there is no vacuum when the throtle plate is open and engine is running at higher rpms................have you checked whether your car has thermo valve installed despite running on auto? if not get it back asap.......

It is happening because of voltage droop, first of all check alternator output then check battery condition and make sure tower terminals are properly tightened. Also check condition of fan relay and its connection.

If your car runs smooth on petrol and problem is only with CNG, then open and pull out the CNG switch. Start your car and observe if wires at harness are getting hot. If they are hot, there lies your problem. Hot wires cause resistance in flow of current. Get that harness replaced with good quality wires.
