Exclamation Cultus VXR 2003 Horn stops working Randomly

    Dear All,

i am having a strange issue with my car's horn. it has started working randomly. first i thought that its having some loose wiring so i checked and re connect every thing but issue remains same.
mostly i find that when i cold start the car, horn works but after some times it stops. there is a relay (not sure of that) mounted aside to Radiator Coolant Reservoir Bottle from where the positive wire is coming to the horn. every time i press the horn from steering wheel, i can hear the tick sound from that relay which i assume that the horn from steering wheel is fine. this tick sound some times results to horn and most of the time just the tick sound from relay. Ground of horn is attached to the body and i also tried it direct to battery -ve terminal.
kindly suggest what could be the reason.

    possible issues

    - rusty / dusty connectors [take the connectors out and clean em,
    - relay needs replacement, over heat issues, [get the relay changed]
    - change the horns, usually they do have a life too [buy kabli ones, would cost u around 400 rupees]
people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

    thanks takko for the reply,

connectors are cleaned as i reconnected all and cleaned with WD-40

    what is meant by:

    - relay needs replacement, over heat issues, [get the relay changed]

is relay getting over heat? i am not getting your point.. how possibly it could be?
