It looks a bit high to me.... as normally it should be slightly above the black mark....
Do give it a complete check before summers.......

    & walai kum salam

thermostat helps engine to attain optimum engine operating temperature in less time, when T/S valve is removed it take LONGER and hurts engine performance. quietly mumble in front of him ... O gadhay kuch seekh lai

politely tell him to put back thermostat valve. by removing the upper hose pipe and losing less of coolant. once the valve is in system carefully add the coolant in radiator, read this to understand the cooling system of vehicle

once the valve in place you can see significant drop in needle position during driving conditions, and at this position in summers with aircon working. - keep check on coolant level in expansion tank ( reservoir bottle )

Install TSTAT valve ASAP if your radiator and cooling lines are working properly.

I drive an 18 year old Civic it's fan is auto, thermostat valve is installed and I use proper coolant in the radiator instead of tap water. It's still running on the original engine.

Auto fan does not ruin your engine, but stupidity and ignorance does.

Sorry i meant to say direct fan. Auto fan with thermostat is okay which works when car has 50% temp. Direct fan doesn't allow engine to reach its optimum temperature for proper operating.
