    Post Cultus Gaskit blown

    Good day there,

I have a 2005 cultus 2005, a month ago my gaskit was blown due to overheating. i got it fixed but within a month the problem was up again when i showed the car to mechanic he said the gaskit is blown again even though it was never over heated. what could be the possible reason? as mechanic described that the shape of the engine "i mean the place where gaskit is installed" is out of shape and need to be balanced etc i don't know much. Any advice or opinions will be appreciated. thanks.

This is just unacceptable that a small engine like that of a cultus is blowing gaskits.
Just goes on to show the shoddy quality Suzuki is forcing us to accept.

For your problem, yes the head does need to be "faced" to ensure that it sits straight on the cylinder block and seals every thing shut.
The cylinder block itself needs to be leveled for the same purpose.

However I am not sure how did the mechanic conclude facing was required without using very precise instruments.

the whole point of having a gaskit is to account for the small variations in leveling between the two surfaces.

I suggest that you get 2nd and 3rd opinion, AND before you fix the gasket

FIX the cause of overheating which caused the first gasket to blow.

if he wasn't able to fix correctly the first time, find another mechanic. being made of aluminum cultus almost always needs to be faced after overheating, blown gasket.
